Unpleasant Flavor/Throat Hit

I have had my DSE-901 for a little over 2 weeks. I have been truly enjoying my e-cig, but in the last couple of days I have been getting a much harsher hit & not as good of flavor. I made sure that my batteries were fully charged, have been maintaining my atomizer & actually washed/boiled it last night, I also cleaned my cartridge & the "wick" that hold the juice last night. I am still, however, getting the harsher hit & flavor. What have I missed, or what else should I try???

You do need to occassionally change your filling. After awhile it will give a almost burnt taste.

Sounds like your cartridge stuffing is starting to get burned/melted. It gives off a nasty taste. You might want to check the DIY section for alternate stuffing. I've been using paper towel (Kirkland/Costco brand). I use about a 2inch strip for my 801 carts. Seems to work real well and it's cheap. Tea bags have also been used with great success, but I like the paper towel better and I don't have to mess with loose tea.

ETA: You'll also find that paper towel holds a lot more liquid so you don't have to top off as often.

Awesome! I was unsure how long the cartridge stuffing would last. I had read that if you washed them out & they were still white that it was ok to still use them.

I would have never thought of using paper towels!

I have also heard of using polyfill.

I have been using 2 batteries & 2 cartridges alternating. I am still so new to this & there is so much to learn. I just had no idea how long or how quickly things need to be changed out.

It is definitely a burnt flavor. I am going to try the paper towel method when I get home!! Any particular brand/type?

I use a 2 inch strip. I roll it and put it in the empty cart then pull it up about a millimeter and make a straight cut and push it back down in the cart. It is a loose fit. I fill down through the hole in the middle. Don't make it too tight, you want it fairly loose. Too tight and you get poor vapor, too loose and it will leak and flood your atomizer. The paper towel holds way more juice and seems to last much longer between fills. There are several methods and types listed in the DIY section.

I just use the paper towels I have in my kitchen which are Costco's Kirkland brand. Cheap to change and I just put the old one in my syringe and squeeze the extra juice into the new one.
