Hey fellow vapers,

I recently doubled my nicotine strength from 12 whatsits to 24, partly on the basis of published research which indicates beneficial effects of nicotine on brain functions. Sadly, I couldn't find the research summaries which I had read originally, guess the nico hasn't kicked in yet, but I did find this research abstact on the internet:

"The central CB1 cannabinoid receptor has recently been implicated in brain reward function. In the present study we evaluated first the effects of the selective CB1 receptor antagonist, SR141716, on the motivational effects of nicotine in the rat. Administration of SR141716 (0.3 and 1 mg/kg) decreased nicotine self-administration (0.03 mg/kg/injection). SR141716 (0.3-3 mg/kg) neither substituted for nicotine nor antagonized the nicotine cue in a nicotine discrimination procedure, but dose-dependently (0.01-1 mg/kg) antagonized the substitution of nicotine for D-amphetamine, in rats trained to discriminate D-amphetamine. Secondly, using brain microdialysis, SR141716 (1-3 mg/kg) blocked nicotine-induced dopamine release in the shell of the nucleus accumbens (NAc) and the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis. To investigate whether SR141716 would block the dopamine-releasing effects of another drug of abuse, we extended the neurochemical study to the effect of ethanol, consumption of which in rodents is reduced by SR141716. Dopamine release induced by ethanol in the NAc was also reduced by SR141716 (3 mg/kg). These results suggest that activation of the endogenous cannabinoid system may participate in the motivational and dopamine-releasing effects of nicotine and ethanol. Thus, SR141716 may be effective in reduction of alcohol consumption, as previously suggested, and as an aid for smoking cessation."

I think that should give comfort to all of us, I know it does to me. Wondering if any members know a supplier of that SR141716 stuff, and does it come in different flavours?

More does not mean better.
Actually many things are good for you in small doses and can kill you in larger doses... even water kills you in huge doses. And that one is like essence of our existence...

That is very true, one time a radio channel once made a dare for someone to drink a whole gallon of water, and then the person die in their house.
Very bad...

ive always stuck to 24mg and sometimes 18mg if im trying to make something with a little more flavor in my mixs, but not for any reason other then i dont have to vape as often, when i was using lower doses i was hitting my mod twice as often and as we dont know the actual safety of inhaling vg/pg and most the flavors used i would think vaping higher amounts of nic less often would be better then vaping a ton of lower nic.

Hi, I was a chain smoker for over 40 years. I've been without a tobacco cigarette for almost seven momths now. I use the " Super Mini" i.e., battery RN4081 "mega" battery. I have eight batterys and 4 chargers. I use the pre loaded 24mg cartomizers. All in black with a blue led tip. I like the 70/30 V to P mixture with most any tobacco flavors. It is very reassuring that one can get this stuff in Thailand where I will be sometime in Feb. I sent a kit I made up to a friend on Phuket and it was seized by customs. Can I carry this stuff through the airport? Would someone please email me as to where I can find the battery RN4081 along with cartomizers and juice? I abhorr the idea of having to go back to tobacco cigarettes. I am a newbie and can't figure out how to pm a mmember. I will be in Bangkok a short time then head for Phuket. I was last in (on) Phuket in 1983. I think that I will be seeing some changes, but I am sure it will be alot more peaceful than here in the u.s.

I don't understand what that has to do with increasing your nicotine level. All they are saying there is they blocked a receptor and implicated nicotine and ethanol in the same pathway. There's nothing in that that gives any comfort - its just saying nicotine appears to to activate receptors that release dopamine. Alcohol does too.
