My bank has a private monitoring service named CSI that called me at 11pm as i was trying to go to sleep. He told me my card had a suspect charge and i thought my brother was pulling a prank on me. I woke up called the bank to confirm then contacted Ben through the AVE site. It's the only place i had used the card recently.
A year ago one of my co workers cards got lifted and the FBI left the account open to bust the creep. Sometimes it catches up to the bad guys.

I just received my new debit card Friday. I had an unauthorized charge for $54.94 to Zoosk, which apparently is a dating website. I'm just glad they only got me for a relatively small amount (which my bank has already returned to me), otherwise I would have been in deep doo doo, as they say, since I use my check card for all Alien Visions purposes. I won't stop ordering from them, I pretty much use their juices exclusively, but I guess I'd better move on to a pre-paid card from now on.

Mine was compromised by a purchase from Ave on 1/18.

My card was charged around $650 (taking into consideration the exchange rate to COP) on March 14th without my consent. Now my last purchase from AVE was January 26th.

I have resolved this issue with my bank but I would like to know if the CC data was compromised even with orders from January or should I check my other purchases after that (Amazon, BWB, AvidVaper, AltSmoke)?

Anyway, I'm glad you guys caught the problem and solved. As an occasional online merchant I can attest that payment issues are a pain in the behind for a small company.

Lastly, though I have to express gratitude for the understanding most of you show. It is SUCH an easier task taking care of this issue when I feel like what I've done is "enough" and all of your comments, replies, and offered solutions have reflected empathy, compassion, and a knowledge of the internet and its pitfalls.

Just wanted to take a second and say that even though I wasn't affected by this, I commend your handling of it. Ben and Christy, YOU ROCK =)

Minus the details, I thought it proper to post up here and note that the AV crew is a class act. A simple thank you from me for how Ben and the team handled this. I'll leave it at that. Customer service is not as common as it should be in today's day and age. AV won a loyal customer on my end.

Funny, as this happened to me after my FIRST juice buy online. I had bought some juice from a local vendor before, but AV was my first online. Re-ordered already, and can't say enough about this place. Again, thanks Ben and crew for handling this the way you did. May fortunes be had by you and yours.

I guess I should read the forum more often. My card was hacked in February. Two $500 charges to an Asian airline from the Philippines. My other card was hit this week by several charges originating in the UK including an escort service and Match.com. I had no idea this activity was going on until today when I found this thread. I appreciate the banks and their anti fraud efforts. I honestly have not decided how I will handle new orders after these events. Maybe prepaid?

Well, ordered right after the new card arrived and the system was fixed a bit back. Here I am again, 1,700 bucks in airplane ticket charges on the new credit cards. Maybe it is just coincidence, but the only dual charge we made back when it was hacked the first time and this time has been AV. We have been careful about what we charge since. I waited until Bem said it was all fixed and then ordered wit the new card.

Sorry AV, but you are the only place I can connect with the last incident that I charged to again. Maybe it is not you folks, but I'm posting to let you know anyway in case others are having this happen again.

Sorry to say, but I'm done with AV unless the fraud department from the CC proves otherwise. It bugs the .... out of me that this was a malicious attack the first time. There is not much out there to stop the nuts that do this and then sell off the numbers on the black market. I'm done with this. Too many problems and inconveniences.

Best of luck folks and the AV team.

I've been pretty hard on Ave. But Im pretty sure it was their CC processor that was compromised along with several others. Unless something really screwy is happening with a vendor (any online vendor) they don't even have your credit card #. (If you are so inclined next time you are making an online purchase, open up the developer tab in whatever browser you use, click "network", then see where else you are making connections.)

^^^ this is true of most vendors and the reason it irks me so much when I see a vendor get attacked because somebody's card info got stolen. Place blame where blame is due, which in this case is not necessarily with AVE. Hell, they even told us about the problem once they found out about it, something I haven't seen other businesses (both e-cig and non-e-cig related) do in this situation. Okay, getting off my soapbox now . . .

How do you do that with firefox? There's a 'Tool' then web developer option but I don't know what the heck I'm looking for.
