I was searching through the US Bank website last night, trying to find an "safe" alternate method for shopping on-line other than my visa stamped check/debit card. I couldn't find anything like the BoA "SafeShop" or whatever it is called where you issue one-time cc numbers, nor did I find any prepaid options. One thing that I did find, however, is that my visa stamped check/debit card has fraud protection apparently and zero liability for fraudulent purchases if number is lost/stolen. This isn't enough though, is it? I should still probably either set up a second checking account or go pre-paids, huh?

Try the prepaids....that's all I use and have been very satisfied with them.

Add me to the list as well. Im reading through this thread and I got hit my basically the same places. Napster, bing ads, and a beijing website called 91hpay.com. virtually the same amounts too...600, 151, etc, all on friday close to midnight pst. I got hit for basically a grand. My bank sucks and I have to wait up to 10 business days for it to come back. Unfortunately I have to mention this, but I had also ordered from AVE , mt baker, and RAWR before it happened. I dont blame the vendors at all for this, but I think the payment server they use should be looked into. To the vendors, im sorry I mentioned you and I dont want ANY harm to come to your business. I just think these payment systems may need to be looked at.

I talked with a certain reviewer bout this and he recommended the card from netspend.com. I think this will be the way I go from now on....

I would be furious if I were a vendor and my customers were getting hacked due to payment server not being secure.

Because of the nature of the e-cig business, there are very few credit card processors that will work with them.

Yes, but any decent CC processor should have a well-secured network. There are multiple hardware type firewalls, and I imagine they all have a few IT people.

The decent CC processors won't touch the industry. That's why there's such a small pool of options for vendors in the US.

Wow...looks like I may need to contact them...its nice that they admitted thier system has a problem, but that.doesnt get my money back any quicker. Considering this was only my first order with avejuice and I go through this much trouble I unfortunately will choose not to do business with them. Bobas bounty aint worth late fees on my bills. Sorry guys....

I dont usually spend a whole lot. I was thinking about just buying myself a VISA gift card rather than the refillables. Do any of you think I should have any reason to forsee the vendors not accepting them? TY.

Wow, I forgot about Visa gift cards.
    That's a good idea, too.
I will have to get one just for the heck of it to see if they work ok

May have to register an address, I " THINK" I read that once long ago. But I'm not sure about it now. I read that a couple years ago when some one questioned why it didn't work for them. Check with the vender you're dealing with I guess to see if they take them?

+1 to netspend, i used their prepaid card for my regular banking needs for years. Never any problem, never any hassle. treated me better than any BANK i've ever done business with. Can be reloaded at most places that do western union.

You generally have two options - 1, pay a small fee (like $1) per transaction, or 2, pay $10 for unlimited transactions. for the purposes of vaping and peace of mind, $1 per is probably fine.

I too use BOA shopsafe. And I have never ordered from AVE. Last week BOA notified me my CC was compromised and had blocked the card and was sending a new one. The strange thing about all this is I ALWAYS use shopsafe for online orders so I am supposed to be protected. If one of the ecig vendors I used was compromised why would they have to cancel "my" card since I was using a pseudo CC number via shopsafe and not my real one? I do use this card at gas pumps, doctor office, etc. so there may be a connection there. I'm thinking like some others that it is upstream processors having an issue. Maybe the problem is so pronounced with ecig vendors because of the number of orders we place over a month or so. Especially at this time with all the FDA paranoia, etc.

Looks like AVE found the vulnerability. Ben says they'll be closed a few more days, I think it's a good idea. I'm ready to place an order with him as soon as he's back up.

Normally I'd be extremely wary of using a vendor again after something like this, but I'm not going to let a bunch of two-bit thieves cost a great business any more money than they already have. Hopefully Ben's wookies will lock the place down for good this time.

I agree. I will be ordering from them again when they open back up for business.

I've been using my debit cards for purchases lately. We've been paying off debt and not using credit cards for anything. Guess I'll be using credit cards from now on for vape supplies.

Not sure about all Debit cards, but mine can't be used without the PIN, because it's chipped and when making a purchase online, via hyper wallet or direct transfer the PIN is never passed to any vendor.
