Ok everyone. I am at the hospital and the last few days have been aweful. The bacteria that Dan was infected with has damaged his heart terribly. He will have to have heart reconstructive surgery - Wed or Thurs. of this week. 2 valves and they must close up the hole eaten through his heart. Yes - the bacteria ate a hole through his heart. A couple of days ago, the Docs gave him a 50 50 chance of survival. Today - just 15 min ago, the docs upgraded him to 70 to 80 % FIGGIN YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know the odds are still not great but after all the "Wholy CRAP" moments the last 2 weeks, this news a HUGE positive in a sea of negative.

Here's one of the "Wholy Crap" moments ---- This bacteria got in his system from a pimple on his ear/neck. Yes I typed that right. He had a pimple on the back of his ear/neck and when he tryed to pop it, the core went in instead of out. The infection of the pimple then entered his bloodstream and attacked his heart.

Be careful everyone. I had no clue a pimple could kill someone.

Miracles do happen, many years ago I was struck head on by a drunk driver hit and run, was given a VERY low chance of living and they told my parents if I did live I would either be paralyzed and/or a vegetable. GOD apparently either had more for me to do on this earth or decided heaven wasn't ready for me. The only side effects I have are deaf in one ear and no sense of smell. So stay strong and regardless of the outcome realize HE is in charge.

Wow bull...that's amazing!!! but on another note...How is vaping w/ no sense of smell? Since that is how I taste most of my Juice..on the exhale, through my nose?

People often think smell and taste rely on the other more than it does. My smell has gradually came back, very minor but nevertheless it has increased since I quit smoking. I probably don't get as much flavor from most , but some like TV Tasty Finger, Awesome Vapor Hawaiian Punch, etc.. a few more really hit me well. Hence why I constantly ask for people's reactions to some juices.

Ah.. I see...well nevertheless...I am glad ur around!

Sounds like MRSA/cellulitis to me. I've been having to deal with these damn cellulitis infections since some point late last year, and thankfully they've been nothing but skin infections. It seems like just when I think they're going to stop happening, they keep popping up.

But at least now I know how to stop them, and that's a huge plus. It seems that the bacteria that likes to cause this kind of thing likes to hang out in the nasal cavity and under finger/toenails...and a little Neosporin in those areas over a couple weeks, along with proper environmental disinfecting, can wipe it out. Haven't had to deal with one since, knock on wood! :D

Yep stupid MRSA, that's what I was thinking too...My sis spent 5 days in the hospital and had to have surgery to remove infected skin from her stomach..(sorry gross) and I've had two infections this year that anti-biotics took care of thank God, all 3 started from tiny little pimples....I'm constantly spraying Lysol around here, and hand sanitizer is my best friend... but I did not know that about the Neosporin...thanks for that...

Ardent-I've been following this thread and am continuing to pray for your brother, so glad for the good news!!.....I remember how it felt when it was my baby sis in the hospital, and I'm really feeling for you here...hang in there...
