Folks,

that was a reader that said it was a mod "CSP Daily News reader "phorton" was the first to comment on the editorial:"
Does he know anything we don't?
or is he another one of those that post comments to an article?

Ever read some of those comments?

CSP just quoted a "comment" from their own previous article.

well s#&! I'm sorry but thats the risk you take when you try to screw with electronics and don't know what you're doing or buy from somebody who screws with electronics without researching them first. DON'T GET ME WRONG. I feel REALLY BAD for this poor guy, I'm just saying that this shouldn't go against E-cigs in general, this just shows that you should NEVER try to mess with them or any other rechargeable battery unless you actually know what you're friggin doing! I NEVER mess with the mods, the closest thing I own to a mod is a kr808 ego, and I'd hardly consider that a mod and I get it from a local dude that I KNOW looks at his stuff heavily before he even considers selling it. I mean really, in all honesty who the hell needs a mod? I never saw the appeal in spending 100 dollars on a battery with adjustable voltage when you could just spend 20 dollars to get 2 different batteries with different voltages...... kinda dumb if you ask me.

Well that's one point of view :)

I guess I'm just happy with my good old fashioned KR808 batteries, never had any problems with 'em and I don't plan on getting anything else. something like an ego is cool don't get me wrong but come on.... if the juice vaporizes and does so reasonably well, what is there to complain about?

sqirl,
Look I will agree that if it works, don't try and fix it.
Obviously the hype over finding the sweet spot with high voltage hasn't gotten to you yet :)

Great. I do 3.7 volts from somewhat bigger batteries and don't care for anything higher.
That's you, and me. But, some need more. Some just want more, better, bigger, flashier.
For some the taste is better at some specific voltage.
Kind of hard to fine tune unless you mix your own juice or adjust the voltage.

Congrats on being able to make it work without mods.

My $100 mod will last a lifetime, meanwhile your $20 ego/kr808 batts will keep dying & you will have to purchase new. THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A MOD, NOT TO MENTION MORE MAH, & BETTER VAPE.

Now that we have that out of the way..... my heart goes out to the Vaper, family & friends. This is terrible news for the entire Ecig community.

Im sorry but I just have to speak up. I am only one man and I only bought one kit from V-2. Did I have the worst luck ever, or is this guy just so full of it that his eyes are brown? Here is what I am going to rant about, yet again.

Dan Recio, co-founder of e-cigarette manufacturer V2 Cigs, said in a statement. "We took action against the possibility of electronic issues from the very beginning, with safeguards integrated into our batteries like automatic shutoff and smart chargers that prevent overcharging. We properly age all batteries before shipment and retest mAh to ensure the highest standards."

Are the smart chargers made to burn your house down and kill you and your family? That would be one "smart charger". 90% of the time my ecigs charged overnight. One time it got so hot that I could not touch the battery, so it may have done just that. It pisses me off that this guy is promoting his product to be something its not. So may 3 people will read this and not buy that junk but 20,000 people will read his statement and lots will buy. I hope none of them become crispy. I consider my self and my family lucky that I had to charge that battery in the day and noticed it before it turned to a fire ball.

This is of course also your opinion. May I ask which lifetime battery you are using?

And who needs a 650 horsepower car?

And who needs a $2000 coffee machine?

And who needs a 70 inch TV ?

I totally agree with this train of thought. I guess my only problem is some of the "modders" look down on some of us that don't use, want, desire, or otherwise need to hear about this every time we get on here talking about "non mods".

Now that you mention it though I have a friend that has a coffee pot that costs way more than my Bunn did, however his takes almost 20 minutes in the morning and I have coffee in 3 out of my Bunn. Hummm

Anyway I totally agree there should be all types of devices out there for all tastes and requirements. I think it's great we have so much to pick from. I won't push my preferences on the modders....perhaps they should not push theirs on me. Advise fine, getting pushy to the point of looking down on us if we don't do it, not so fine.

Does that really happen? I never noticed. I'm not into mods at all, and would not recommend to a noob. I do see many times though where mods are the first thing recommended by some in the new members forum, without any reference to the fact that they're a little beyond what the average vaper needs.
