I have been vaping the ego-t (type b) for about 8 months. I love it and and hate depending on the hour or day.

The atty's are a pain! Some work and some don't. I do know how to break them down and clean them. I have tried the Mega DC carto's that many people love, but the failure rate I have experienced is 5/1. I am tired of dumping eliquid down the drain on those.
The bats I have are 3.7 1000 mah ego bats, which seem to be fine most of the time. I should probably go to a VV I would assume.

So there is the lavatube, provari, zmax and so on.

My profile.

I prefer SR over LR
I prefer a lupe warm to cooler vape.
My eliquids are 50/50 to 100 on the VG side.
20 mg is my normal nic
I would prefer something near the size of the Ego-T (not a box!)
While I do prefer value, I am ready to move on regardless.
Would like my tank, carto, ect to hold at least 2.5 mil, but no huge sizes.
The tank/carto/atty needs to perform, for that has been my biggest issue.

Please help lead me out of this frustrating EGO-T into a more promising vaping experience.

Thanks,

Realm

For low cost, and pretty good, I would suggest an Ego-Twist (looks like a slightly long ego, but goes from 3.0 - 4.8 V with a knob on the bottom. There is also the similar, an I think better, 1300 mAh SmokTech Spinner. Same idea, but the volt numbering is clearer to the eyes, and the knob is knurled, making turning it much easier. I use one of those almost all the time.

I also have a Lavatube 2.0 (L-Rider), and I have to say I am not very taken with it. Seems to be inconsistent. Can't speak to the others, but the Yung Jung version of the Lavatube seems to get great reviews. Provari is out of the range I want to spend on a PV, but those that have one generally love them. I like the pocket friendly nature of the Spinner, probably the best of all my VVs.

Have to be careful with low ohm DCTs...they really drain the battery fast, and those are best used on a bigger mod with an IMR high-drain battery. I do use mine on my Ego-VV or Spinner occasionally, but generally only at 3.7V. Personally I favor 2.0 ohm Boge cartos with a drip tip. Good generous vapor and heat, and convenient to drip into. And cheap. Better flavor with a DCT, but that is the trade off.

But then I am a bit old school with cartos. And I only use attys occasionally.

First - changing to a VV won't change the problems you're having with attys/cartos. So you could keep the batts and just change the atty/carto part. Since you prefer SR, the 3.3-3.4v underload eGo batteries, should be good. However, the eGo-c batts have better short and charge protection than the eGo or eGo-t batts, so I suggest replacing them with the eGo-c 'upgrade' batts when the time comes. The 'upgrade' batt has two modes - a regular 'eGo' regulated mode - where you're vaping 3.3-3.4V constantly and a 'regular' non-regulated mode for 3.7V batts where you're at around 4.1v off the charger and then you have the regular 3.6-3.7V for most of the charge to @3.3V toward the end.

Because what I'm going to recommend is a bit longer than the eGo-tank system, I suggest you get the 650mAh eGo-c 'upgrade', unless you absolutely need the longer mAh rating. And I'd point out that as far as I know, only the true Joye batts have the upgraded protection.

For the atty/carto part, there are lots of choices - I've tried many and find currently the Tabac/BCC clearomizer. (also known as the Kanger T3) is the best leak free, good draw, flavor, vapor choice. The vision stardust is also good but can vary from carto to carto, esp. in draw and vapor. You can get the BCC at heaven gifts or good prophets (and probably other vendors as well - they're fairly new).

5pc eGo 3ml Tabac BCC (Bottom Coil Changeable) Clear cartomizer/Clearomizer - 510/eGo Cartomizer Heaven Gifts

different ohm coils:

eGo 3ml Tabac BCC (Bottom Coil Changeable) Clearomizer

coils:
eGo 3ml Tabac BCC Clearomizer - Spare Bottom Coils

For some reason the 1.8ohm coil vapes about like the 2.2 eGo-t/c system. The 1.5ohm coil would likely be too hot for you. The 1.8 comes with the BCC and you might pick up some 2.2 and 2.5ohm coils as well.

They are the 'new version' of the CC Cartos/Kanger T2's, but they offer some changes that are significant. The mouthpieces on the CC and T2 could be a problem and the top coil/wicking (similar to the Vision stardust, vivi nova, and others) had wicking problems... see:

A PBusardo Rant & Review - Vision eGo Clearomizer V3 (long wick) - SnG Vapor - YouTube

The BCC/T3 fix both problems - you don't have to touch the mouthpiece - it's fixed and the coil being at the bottom, you don't have to wave it around :D The silicon orings are all in the right spot and the only thing you have to watch is the one around the threads stays out of the threads - usually it stays in place but I've had them slip down some so just keep them off the threads. Like most other cartos - you have to keep ejuice out of the center tube when filling but if you do it just runs out the mouthpiece and doesn't flood the coil. AND because you fill from the bottom, unlike almost all the rest, you have to have it upside down when you unscrew it from the body of the carto. And actually, you can keep the checkered center piece on the batt when refilling.

The performance is such that I've replaced all my eGo-c tank systems and vision stardusts with these. I still have some CC Cartos going, but the BCC is better because of what I mention above. The taste and vapor is better, imo and the draw is really good. However, If you like a tight draw, plug one of the holes in the checkered metal bottom piece. The tank is just slightly wider than the eGo batt - a mm or so, unlike the vivi nova which is considerably bigger, and the tank holds about 2.4-3 ml of ejuice.
