Hi all,
I am looking ahead to upgrade my set up as a reward for 1 month free of analogs. I am doing lots of research on things and would like some input. I am looking for a non-mech mod and a rda along with the basics to get started for both. If there is such a thing I would like a mod that could handle a bit of sub ohm. I would also like to know what kind of batteries to get right away with the intention of going to a mech in the future (handle sub ohm with as much safety as possible). Any help would be most appreciated.

For a mod that isn't mechanical that can handle sub ohm well, look for a DNA30 mod. Hard to find and expensive but they're about as good as it gets. For an rda, I suggest suggest a Patriot clone. Easy tri post design. Now batteries, you should read about battery safety. I use Sony BTW and VTC5 batteries. Arguably the best you can buy currently.

Sent from my GS5.

Sub ohm is not a huge factor, it would just be nice to have that option down the road to test it out. I would love to do the dna 30 I just have no idea where has the shortest waiting list or whatever. I was also looking for a bit of info on building coils above 1 ohm in terms of kanthal guage and wrap guidlines if there is anyone who may know off the top of their head. Off to keep digging and thank you for the responses so far.

Without a mechanical you are not going to get much from sub ohming.

I can tell you that...

26 gauge = 3.21 Ohms/ft resistance
28 gauge = 5.27 Ohms/ft resistance
30 gauge = 8.36 Ohms/ft resistance
32 gauge = 13.7 Ohms/ft resistance

Divide these by 12 to get Ohms/inch resistance and build coils from there. Hope that helps. Good luck and happy vaping!
