I canned (pressure canned) much of what was in my freezer when I saw the storm coming in. So no issues for other things I need to keep in the freezer. I am slowly moving towards the majority of our food supply not needing refrigeration even if I have to can or dehydrate it myself. In the last year doing that has saved our butts 6 times between hurricanes, ice storms and COVID panic buying around here. Its not a bad plan to not be dependent on power for food. Have you considered how you will cook it without power?
Yeah, that question has crossed my mind on multiple occasions- what to do if there is an extended Power Outage.
Pressure Cookers have always skeered the poop out of me (bad Memory association from when I was a kid, lol) but I imagine that the Tech has improved greatly since then (from 50+years ago), so I should look into how to Can, because it definitely is a worry - free Food Storage option.:thumb:

Send me a PM so we don't derail the thread too much. I can make some suggestions on both cooking in a power failure and learning to can. :)

True, but please don't diminish your food stores just to store nicotine, especially in the times we're living in today. Best to work toward a small dedicated nic freezer.

Just give you an example of energy cost. I have an second fridge that has a top freezer, that's where I store my nic. That fridge is a late 1990s model. It costs me about $10 /mo in electricity. Not too shabby IMHO. I bet a small dedicated freezer will consumer half that, or thereabouts, and not eat into your food stores.
but with nicotine you aren't as hungry anymore

I thought US online sellers would already be moving out inventory, with the USPS stopping shipping sometime after 3/22. Although there have been a few aggressive sales, most are just the typical 15% off stuff. I suppose many are trying to capitalize on, even encourage stockpiling while the demand is there. Maybe we'll start seeing more of the big sales by the middle of next month. I don't have anything I particularly want or need, but a great deal will tempt me.

With the way things are, New Administration, PMTA Sword of Damocles, State and Local Possible/Pending Legislation(s), Shipping Bans, etc... I tend to Wonder just How Much Stock Retailers and Distributors are willing to Carry?

    I'm like you, I Don't Need Anything.

But when I poke around on Retail Sites, I have seen a Lot More "Out of Stock" notices than I can Remember.

It's so sad. I noticed that too. It may be a combination of the Chinese New Year disruption, and the horrible weather, and the bans, but who knows. Some places are restocking, others not so much.

I tend to think any shop realizing they are not going to survive the mail ban and/or deeming or whos in-store business doesn't require near the stock they have on hand is just going to run their stock out. No reason for them to have sales between the constant "buy now online before you can't" email notices and an increased of people stocking up "take my money" demand now.

It's seems like this is just the Last Kick in the Teeth in a Long Road of Kicks in the Teeth.

Never something so Sudden that people actually get Irate. Juts Loose a couple of Fingers here, maybe most of a Foot there. Been going on that way for So Long, many Don't even know any difference.

Or Why it Needed to be this Way in the First Place?

I would love to say we had a good run but vaping/e-cigarettes has been under attack from day one from our government, health organizations and zealot groups. I know it's not the end ...but... I have no idea where it will go post mail ban/pact act and deeming. And no I don't feel like we (vapers) fought the good fight in total. I think the best we can do now is fight local battles like flavor bans because local is all most of us will have left.

Oh it can get worse. How about an internet ban? No social media, no forums, no webpages for B&M stores, no webpages for CASAA and others, nada. Don't give me "that's against the 2nd amendment" crapola. The Constitution doesn't mean anything anymore.

I'm not surprised that alcohol isn't restricted to everyone in the name of protecting the children. Wait, most adults and many politicians would be incensed at that move. Those in power get to control things that they want and ban things that they don't want the masses to possess. Everyone is against smoking (that kills people) but it's still legal. Vaping takes a hit because it impacts the sale of tobacco cigarettes and the taxes that cigarette sellers send to the government. They conveniently overlook the fact that vaping saves or extends the lives of former smokers who quit smoking and turn to vaping.

    Thank you so much!
I actually went and took a Tape Measure to my Freezer, lol.
I can free up half the space in it for Nic Base.
The worst that would come of it is that I will have to shop for Frozen Foods a little more often, lol.
Frozen Food is easy to access, Nic Base, potentially not so much.
Decisions have to be made, lol.
Edit to add : I wish I had the Counter Space for an Aux Freezer but pretty much all of my Counter space is occupied by other Appliances and the remainder of the Kitchen area is Cabinets and Drawers, ugh.

I have three liters of 100mg nic in the freezer in 8oz glass Boston Rounds bottles in a box that's 10"x7"x 5". Once you break it down into glass it stores compactly. After a couple of years, I'm still working out of the same bottle and it's still water clear after being kept in the freezer with the rest of my stash. One bottle that I kept out in the fridge started turning yellow, so it went into the freezer stash. It still tasted fine when used to make 3mg juice, though. 3ml DIY vape juice doesn't diminish the stash that fast.

I agree you really do not go through it that fast. I have 5 litters + 2 100ml bottles that are still from the first one that I started in 2017. At that time I was vaping 12ml, since then I have cut it back to 6ml. I plan to cut to 3ml over the summer and I should have enough to last me until I am in my 90's
