You'll get contradicting responses on how long it will last, PG or VG. I mix heavy towards PG, so get mine that way. If you mix / vape high or "max" VG, get the nic in VG.

I usually get mine in PG. As I figure that PG probably won't go rancid. And it is ok if some of my mixes actually doesn't hit 80% VG. Plus the liquid is thinner and easier to work with.

If you do decide to decant into glass, see my blog post for links to the best prices on amber boston rounds I ever found.

Is there a reason you would use 16oz bottles over 32oz bottles for liters of nic? Seems the 32oz would be the most cost effective, but maybe it's better to keep the nic in smaller containers(?).

Yes, the smaller the best. The idea is that you just take one bottle out of the freezer and use that as your working bottle (just keep in fridge instead of refreezing).

I used mostly 16oz to save money. That is only for my newer nic that will be used many years from now. The rest is in 4 oz bottles.

If I had to do it all over again, I would decant all to 4 oz and maybe some 8 oz. I only included larger sizes in my blog post in case people need to pinch pennies.

I would say, if you have to pinch pennies, make sure you decant some into small bottles and the rest into big bottles. Then as you get enough empty small bottles as you use your nic, decant the large bottles into the smaller bottles. that's what I'm going to have to do.

So for instance, I used 16 oz bottles as my largest bottles. As I use my nic in the 4 oz bottles, every time I get 4 empty 4oz bottles, I will decant one 16 oz bottle into those 4 empty 4 oz bottles. That's not ideal, but it's what I have to live with and what you will have to live with if you decide to take the big bottle route.

JMO...

I prefer breaking down Liter amounts to 4oz (120ml) Bottles myself.

If I have Smaller Bottles, say 8oz or 4oz, then when it comes time to do DIY I simply take the Bottle out of the Freezer, and put it in the Frig for 1 Day. Then I do my DIY and what is left over in that Bottle goes back into the Frig. When the Frig Bottle is used up, I Repeat the Process with a New Bottle from the Freezer.

That way what is in the Freezer stays at Low Temp. It also Isn't Exposed to any more Air than necessary. And if I mix on Friday the 13th, and end up Spilling or Dropping a Bottle on the Kitchen Floor, at least it is a Smaller bottle. Verses 32oz of Sticky Mess to Cleanup.

I went with the 32 oz bottles due to limited freezer space, so a lot depends upon your circumstances.

Just ordered the bottles and also argon (even tho the argon cost almost as much as the bottles... doh!).
    Better safe than sorry!

    I got:
12pack of the 8oz (4oz might be too big of a footprint in freezer, and 16-32oz seem big and avoiding accidents or dropping it - losing 8oz is better than losing 16-32oz)
    +
    ArT argon wine preserver

I have 2L of nic... so, 8x 8oz bottles and I'll still have 4 extra... tempted to buy another 1L to fill the other 4 bottles, lol.

I'm in the same boat as Territoo, limited freezer space.

What I've been doing since I started DIY'ing (10 years ago) is to decant a liter of nic (only ever needed one at a time up until recently) into a 32oz Boston Round and keep that in the freezer. As needed, I fill a 4oz bottle from the 32oz as a working bottle, then return the partial 32oz bottle to the freezer. Is this a horrible thing to do??

I've never had an issue doing it this way, but I've also never had this much nic at once. I currently have 8 unopened liters of 100mg nic. :)

If I were to decant into the 8oz bottles, that would be 32 bottles....not gonna fly with the wife, or me really. Even 16 16oz bottles would be a no-go. I think I have no choice but to continue as I have been with 32oz bottles and hope for the best!

    That's a Point.

Bigger Bottles take of Less Space than a Bunch of Smaller Bottles.

Yep, that is another (minor) reason I decided on big bottles at first.

But everyone has to weigh out the pros and cons and make decisions based on their own situation.

Right. You gotta do what's best for you. The "go as small as possible" nic bottle recommendation I and others have given in this thread and throughout the years is based on what we perceive as "best practice". But it isn't the only way to do it nor is it possible for all people to follow it. Gotta adapt to your situation.

    I like working with 4oz bottles (125ml)
4 bottles fit in a small USPS flat rate box, which makes it easy to stack (vertically)in a chest freezer.
3cu ft freezer currently has 12 ltrs (96) bottles with plenty of room to spare.
Each box is assigned a # which is logged in a notebook..brand and date bought.
The number system makes it easy when defrosting every 2 years.
Unload/reload..newest nic goes in first to the bottom.
Of course, all these bottles were bought over a 6 year period and get reused when mixing down base every 8-9 months. (Base goes back in the freezer and thawed as needed).
Develop a system that works best for your situation...

I haven't been here in ages, but I decided to log in to see what the latest is on the shipping ban. If USPS would just hold our packages at the local post office, we could be ID'd and sign and be on our way. It's obvious to me the just want to get rid of the vaping business. Seriously, what's wrong with picking up at the local post office? I'm so angry over this.

    What's so hard to understand?
Mike blumborg {sic} last year spent one billion anti-tobacco dollars and another 160 million anti-vape.
Mike blumborg contributes heavily to politicians campaign chests - 'they' know that winning elections often depends on blumborg's money.

Why should you have any right to vape a safer tobacco product if blumborg {sic] doesn't want you to?
He has been caught interfering with the government of the Philippines as part of his anti-vape campaign.

The nation of India recently outlawed completely all vape products and even possesion of vape devices and juices in India can land you in jail, and that is in a country that has a very high rate of cigarette smoking and deaths from lit cigarettes - How much money blumborg cotrbueted to Indian politicians I do not know.

You see these useless petitions do nothing to sway politicians bought and paid for by blumborg {sic].
The only way to turn around this new genocide driving people back to lit cigarettes is to shine the light on blumborg and his minions of rat accomplices.

Checking online it looks like everyone is out of stock on PG most are out of stock VG too.
I have been aware of the PG shortage for a bit now, I questioned Essential Depot when their prices doubled then went to sales to members only, they told me there was a hoarding issue. I am so glad I just grabbed some (BCF) they are now out of stock too, whew! I was super low.
Hopefully soon this situation will correct itself, not a great time to be a vaper. Its like a crazy game of whack-a-mole anymore.
I got a gallon of each from River Supply a few weeks ago.
They show both in stock at the moment:
    DIY Propylene Glycol

Done with stocking up orders - been doing it over the last year.
3 1/2 liters of 100mg nic in the freezer.
16 mods, 18 tanks, 300 ft of wire and 1,000 Japanese cotton pads in the backup closet.
Should be good for like.... 30 years? 20 for sure.
Last order was for some new items I'm liking:
Vaporesso mod: $31.99 Authentic Vaporesso SWAG II 80W VW APV Box Mod - 5-80W / 1*18650 at FastTech - Free Shipping
Berserker clone: $12.66 Berserker MTL Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 4.5/2ml / stainless steel / 24mm diameter at FastTech - Free Shipping
    Phew!
And oh, the last FastTech order I used USA express shipping for the first time.
Costs $4.25 extra, but I got the items in 10 days!

Yeah, it's not always that fast, but it's worth the few dollars over epacket because it seems more reliable. Epacket can sometimes take WAY too long. Then again, I have recently got a dew epacket shipments from FT in as little as 20 days.
