smokeless cigarettes are not a product that warrants the involvement or oversight of either government entity. The FDA notes that electric cigarettes do not fit the classification of products it governs. The TTB (tobacco and Taxation Bureau, formally the ATF, Alcohol tobacco and Firearms) has formally determined that the TTB has no regulatory interest in the smokeless cigarette industry because it does not contain tobacco.

Back about the time I started e-smoking, January 2008, some company posted this wording on its Web site. Others quickly copied it and posted it on theirs. To see it still around after all that has transpired in almost two years is pathetic and ignorant beyond belief.

Nothing in it is true anymore.

Even the company name -- USACig -- is sure to be challenged by the fifth best-selling cigarette in the country, USAGold.

Just another fly-by-night looking to cash in. I've heard ads on the radio, too.

Stuff like this will NOT help.

Yeah, I heard an add on an internet radio channel for another rip-off going by the name "White Cloud". They want almost $190 for a two battery cartomizer style kit that I can purchase from a wholesaler for $15.

Don't people realize advertising like that costs big money, and that cost is passed on to them?

Tried to call in response to an ad I heard on the rush limbaugh show. $120.00 free to the first 100 callers (they ran this ad for 6 hrs ) I got a telemarketer trainee how started a long q & a . When I asked if we could skip this part and go straight to the free stuff you mentioned in your ad, he replied sure and promptly hung up. I was trying to find out just what was free and what was the cost to maintain their product. They must be instructed not to talk to anyone who may have knowledge e cigarettes. I would not have bought anything just wanted to know what they were pushing.

Older: We're lures with our bright, shiny, happy-bunny faces, extolling how wonderful these are ... so long as no one digs deeper and finds out about flawed product, failed atomizers, burning batteries, the "hobby" nature of what we do, the unknowns, dangers, lack of quality control or regulation, etc.

We're the source of quotes about how some smoker accidentally quit smoking after taking up e-cigs. We get quoted on how much better we now feel, how we can breathe easier, climb tall mountains and win marathons while e-puffing. We live and vape under a smokefree clear blue sky, where happy little bluebirds fly. You've read the sales sites.

Selective posts. You bet we are shiny lures to newbies. Below the surface, newbies ....

No such thing as TTB, if the ATF were renamed their website isn't aware of it. Seems to be a Crown7 distributor.:)

Actually there is it's the Alcohol and Toabcco Trade and Taxation Bureau:

TTBGov

It's a part ot the Treasury Department, whereas the ATF is part of the Justice Department.

My assumption is the TTB concerns itself with collecting the taxes and issuing permits

ROFLOL yup..I accidentally quit too! Not to mention that I have NEVER picked up a piece of brand new technology that did not have its issues, so I rather expect them.

For those who do not remember, PC's were a pain in the ...., the Internet was something you got to log onto after many frustrating attempts when there was only dial up, cell phones used to be the size of shoe boxes and about as useful with more dead spots than live ones, the first time you ever recorded something from a TV show it was grainy as a snow storm, TV itself was pretty hit and miss depending on where you pointed the "ariel" and what the weather was like. etc etc.

Anyone expected new technology to work perfectly straight out of the box has not been around all that long.

Doesn't mean there are not blue skies, and at the very least the potential for blue birds ! :D
