What is the deal with USB cables? I have one from Janty that has an ecigar size battery in it so the battery breaks the direct supply from the power source and I can use it without plugging it in if I want .

I've looked at pictures of some other USB cables and none of them look like they have a battery, is this the case? Do they have to be plugged into a power supply to work? Might it be dangerous to use a direct supply like that?

Just curious.

I only recenly noticed I can smoke using the USB without connect to the pc

all the while I thought must plug in the pc than got power to e puff.

but got once I tried without connecting to my pc
and it got the power for me to e puff.

I feel is because the pc is charging the blue battery
and it able to provide power to the e cig battery attact

the PC charges the battery.. the battery powers the e cig.. other types use the five volt usb supply stepped down to 3.5-ish e cig voltage..

a usb socket is rated at 500 ma max draw.. an e cig overloads them somewhat..

its also not wise to leave the little 10440 lithium battery in the lead permanently on charge all the time when its not in use.. if the cell or charge protection fails it could catch fire..

both methods have their problems..

ps.. the direct usb powered ones might look like a battery in some cases but they are not.. its just a convenient way to connect up to the atomizer..

The only other USB one I've seen is E-cig.com's, and whatever they use is all within a normal battery housing. What other USB e-cigs have you seen?

Here are some that I have come across:

EcigsdotcodotukUSB.jpg Electronic Cigarette | Free Yourself... | e-cigs Mini

ElecCigCoUSB.jpg The Electronic Cigarette Company (UK) Ltd. - SHOP - ACCESSORIES > USB CHARGER

FreesmokeUSB.jpg www.Freesmoke.eu

EcigdotcomUSB.gif https://e-cig.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=256

PaxesUSB.jpg Paxes Shop

USB KABEL: (Can't attach a picture for this one, too many attachments on this post already.)

None of these appear to have anything to protect the user from direct current from the supply.

The picture of the Janty one looks the same though, so it could just be a matter of old pictures or something. This picture is not the same as the Janty USB cable I have - -KISSBOX CLASSIC EXTRA'S KISSBOX CLASSIC USB-E CABLE

i had one from e-cig.com; the first which i get was giving a very good heat for atomizer, but from the next batch was different; i think they low down the volts (probably for the safety reason)...and its did not work so well. I think dr.Loi also confirm it in some very old tread ;-)
but be aware if your order this from e-cig.com..you might recieve your order when the product will be to old for reasonable use..;-)
