Using Cool Whip to Test Flavorings?

More than once, I have seen a reference to DIY'ers testing their flavorings with Cool Whip.

Any experience here to share? How? How much? How accurate?

Seems like a good idea - if you like Cool Whip.

Since the flavors are originally designed for foods, you can certainly test it that way for how the flavors ultimately taste, but there really isn't a comparison to how much to use there, versus in a juice. One you are consuming it, one you are heating it up and inhaling it. Tastes will differ.

1 tablespoon to 1 - 2 drops should do it.

You can use an unflavored cracker such as an unsalted saltine. put a drop of flavor on a small peice and then microwave it for a few seconds.

I use a dollop of Cool Whip on a teaspoon, dip a toothpick in my flavor and stir in the Cool Whip. If you test a few that way you can get an idea of their relative strength. On top of all that, it's a good excuse to eat some Cool Whip, anything for science

Is there any reason you couldn't put a drop in a tiny amount of pg/vg and taste it...since thats where it'll eventually wind up

I once made a killer chocolate whip cream then proceeded to eat the whole can in one night. Boy did I pay for that

Yup as mentioned above. I do it all the time. Will give you a good idea at least of the flavor You just might eat all your flavoring tho pol
