Using mods in public

Currently I am using a 510, and have not had any issues using it in public. I am considering purchasing the silver bullet. The only place I consistently use the 510 is on a university campus. The issue I am having with the 510 is I can not seem to get satisfied between classes. Im under the impression that the higher voltage system will give a more satisfying throat hit, and the additional vapor will supply more nicotine. I have thought about moving to 36mg juice, but I would rather stay at 18 and maybe 24.

Anyway, has anyone had any issues using a mod in public. btw... I will be using this directly across from the university police station.

I have been terrified to use my SD. I was at the beach a few weeks ago, and I left my passthrough plugged in the wall in the motel accidentally when we left. I called back there when I realized it, and they said they thought it was drug paraphanalia and tossed it. I use the 510 and 306 in public, and the SD at home. WV is totally not ecig aware, and I would hate to get tossed in jail because of an ecig. I do have to say though that everybody I have shown one to thinks it's cool as heck.

I've never had problems using my mod in public, although I have yet to walk by a cop while vaping on it. Although I have been at red lights and stop signs with cops either behind me or next to me and never had any issues. I have a buddy that freaks out when I use it with cops next to us, but other than getting a rise out of him...I have yet to have issues ;P

With no primer puff needed (I Know, a manual 510 doesn't need one either)
there's no vapor pre-puff and if you work it right little or nothing on the exhale.
So hey - they see a strange woman sucking on some weird thing - no problem.

The bank, grocery store, Walmart, Dr. office, doesn't seem to matter. If you don't make a big deal about blowing vape all over no one seems to even care. Nothing to affect them.

I'm actually more comfortable because it doesn't look like an .... log NOR an e-cig.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I am going to take the plunge into mod land.

@ halopunker The silver bullet will be my first mod. I reviewed all of the devices, and chose the SB based on the terraphon youtube review, design, 510 attys and two voltages available. It looks like it will fit perfect in the palm of my hand. I will be ordering one the week before your estimated ship date. Have to save a bit (poor college student).

My 510 has been stripped of it's paint, and kind of resembles a one-hitter now. I get some strange looks but haven't had a problem yet. If it was a problem, it would only be one time. You explain to them what it is, if that doesn't do it you can offer to let them test your liquid for drugs. After that I'm sure word would spread with the campus police. I guess your other option would be to find the most student-friendly officer and take the time to show him your device and explain it, show him a printout from the website that explains it. Then if anyone ever gave you a problem you could just tell them what it is and say "talk to officer so-and-so, he knows and it's not a problem"

That's was my reasoning. I would just give the officer my cart and let him test it for drugs if he so wished. My other thought was to just go over to the station and show it to them. I just want something that gives a consistent quality vape. My 510 is great for studying at home, but between classes it just does not cut it. It could be the case a mod will not either, but I am willing to try. I hear so many good reviews of mods.

When I first started vaping, I used 901s with green or blue leds - I got lots of people coming uo wanting to know about them. Since I switched to the Screwdriver about 5 months ago I get far LESS comment - the occasional "funny looking pipe" comment but basically very few indeed.

I only use my 901s now when flying, as I remain concerned that some security bloke will think my SD is a detonator...
