Wow what a great thread. I have about 20 old vivi novas, most new in the box that I thought were gonners. Since i went to the Bellus and Subtank they are like sucking a milkshake through a straw with such low airflow. Just watched a utube video and it's a simple fix. Now to get some vise grips. Thanks, now I am definitely stocked.
I see that your in Alabama, me too!
Have you heard any news about the law for us? I can't find anything.

Wow that one sounds like it was a beast!
Back in the Day it was, But not compaired to what is on the market now, vaping has come a long way. :)

The good old days back when protected Trustfire ICR's were trusted. :D
Yea, back then it was common to stack Trustfire batteries, I still have some from back then I use in flashlights, but use newer batteries in my current setups.

Haven't really seen much as far as new laws in Ala. Last I saw was the Governor was trying to increase taxes on them but so far nothing. They are not listed under tobacco products...YET! I rarely see anyone down here vaping.
Me too. The vape shop I visited had a lot of low end cheap stuff at high prices and no knowledge of current products or laws.

It's sad but yet strangely satisfying that we are seeing a need to go back to where we started.

This is why I am not so super scared of the mod part of vaping going away. We have these threads that will show us how to build a mod, if needed.

I remember seeing glimpses of threads talking about how to make a mod out of radio shack parts. I came in after that time period and found those links through the "Remember when" threads.

We are a resourceful bunch and have no doubt that the hardware aspect (whether finding someone that is willing to help fix something or figuring out ways to make something) will continue long after all the deeming shakes out.

Remember, it is the Vapers that figured out the better way to vape. Not a big corporation, not the tobacco companies. Us (or rather you brainiacs that didn't settle with the crap that we were being offered) for whom I am eternally grateful.

To me, the nic is the Main choke point.

True. I just realized almost all of my vaping lately has been on older Provaris that max out at about 15w and fully mechanical devices.

I have 40-200w mods, but I am not really using them. Same with coils, I rarely use prebuilts as I am trying to get in the habit of DIY-ing EVERYTHING!

Here's a tip I got from somewhere on this forum. I have a bunch of PT2's and minis. The bases from full size and minis are interchangeable.

Another one. The minis are pretty worthless as they come out of the box. I used to get add-on airflow controls. But you can get the same benefit by drilling out the holes in the stock base. I used a bit slightly smaller than 1/16th.

I did order a bunch of insulators as they may one day be hard to get when I want to rebuild heads for the umpteenth time. Wick and wire should remain easy to get and inexpensive.

Insulators are the only part I've had to replace on PT's. They get burnt and sometimes they tear. Got a big bag full.

Where do you get them from?

Lightning Vapes have them. In stock. Didn't look around but they normally have every part of the PT heads separately. Plus they have complete heads, disassembled. About $1 each, a little cheaper if you get larger bags. I like the silicone insulators better than the rubber. Rubber ones turn hard from exposure to heat after a while. Though some people prefer the rubber. The silicone ones can compress in use more and mess up the connection at the coil legs.

I just typed RCA jack into the search bar.
The PVMA no more worries for batt connectors!
RCA jack! No wonder I couldn't find it. I remembered wrong. I was thinking it had to do with coax cable connectors.

Thank you!
I remember that thread, was part of it, Yea, I have been around a day or two. :D
Got inspiration for this thread from that thread.

It may take a while for markets to get moving, but the more I think about it the more I'm sure nicotine will be available. The two concerns will be price and quality. At $500 or even $1000 for a liter of 100mg, it will easily sell. At that mark up organized enterprises will step up.

I've been hanging on to all my Vivi Nova's and spare parts... Just in case. I still remember how to work around their little quirks. :)

I still have a few boxes of them from back in the day. Loved how easy they were to rebuild...here's a link of how to with pictures...Rebuilding a Vivi Nova | VAPE Magazine

Even have a bunch of original CE-2's left, now if my MAP tanks are still usable...:)

I remember watching a video with Brusardo rebuilding a vivi nova. Thought, ok, I can do that. Then got one in and Oh Good Lord! NO! Tooooooo tiny!

Still haven't done it. But, *sigh* if it Ever comes down to it.... I would rather rebuild one of those coils than go back to smoking!
