I had a good run with using a pin to fluff the coil. 15 or so tanks . Today I was at Ct vapor trail BBQ and I was vaping alot. .5 ohm coil at 50 watts ,65vg juice and I started getting dry hits again. I got about 3days and 10 tanks before the first dry hit. I then pin fluffed it and I got another 3 days 15 tanks.
So today I primed up a ni200 coil exactly like the video . Been good so far. Hope it works .
I was looking at the stuff in the box and it does say to drip it on the cotton from the top . The tank is awesome I just hope it's bad priming and this is the fix . Honestly I don't think so because I have been priming and then filling the tank and letting it sit for 15 mins .then dry pulling before I ever hit the fire button .

Yeah I did the same thing as the video and it lasted 2 days. Then I did your method and I'm back. Well see how long it lasts. I wrote to u well, I'll let you know of what they say.

Please do cause I wrote them to and I haven't got a response. I'm gonna write again because I really think the cotton is packed to tight. After a few tanks of juice the residue from it clogs the cotton because it so packed and cannot breath . I don't know but cleaning the tank , changing gaskets and new coils aren't fixing it. The pin trick works but that only proves my theory of it being to packed and unable to breath preventing wicking

Agreed. I wrote them yesterday. Well see if they respond.

I am about to go buy a tank today, and so glad I saw this, since I was considering the Crown Uwell. Tired of this sort of tinkering, so it makes my decision easier. Busy with work, and traveling, who wants to go try to find a vape shop to help with this as I'm a relative newbie.
Warwick, RI here....... I did get the Crown, and have mixed feelings. It chucks clouds like everyone says, and plenty of flavor. But the coils take a lot of patience and tinkering. I have unsuccessfully tried 2 TC coils. The vape was great for about 3 hits, then burnt, at joules around 35 and temp around 450. I picked up an Artic as a cheap backup for everyday use. That one I don't get. My little Kanger mini can make just as much smoke in a more comfortable way. My last try for now might be the Atlantis 2, though I am intrigued by the Staare and the new SMOK.

I will say I've been using nickle coil on the crown for 3 days right now and I been trying to kill it . It's been holding up pretty good. I followed that breakin video to a tee and it's been working great. Problem with the ni200 coil is there's just not anywhere close to as much flavor as with the .25 or .5 ss coils. After this test to see how long it'll last I'm going back to the .5 coil. Fingers crossed 3 days and going strong no burnt hits at all

I've been having pretty good luck last 4 days . I been running ni200 coil on a dna 200 by hcigar. 50 watts and 500 f and I haven't had a single dry hit. I really babied the priming process . I followed that video exactly. Not sure how long it'll last but I'm hoping this works out. I wrote uwell about the issue and haven't recieved a reply at all.

reporting in with my 2 crowns.

70VG, 30PG = works fine
80VG, 20PG = dry hit city... :(

Need to dillute my one hit wonder liquids to be able to vape them in the crown :(
Makes a lot of sense. Don't know why I never put this together. I have aa lot of 80/20 juices including one hit wonder. If you poke 2 holes in each air hole it will wick properly, won't flood and you won't have to dilute. Thanks for your reply, I think you solved the case for me.

What amount VG is your juice?

Had another good day with the ni200 coil. I broke it in same video an

I'm running malicious liquid 60vg . Been really trying to burn it out. Chain vaping like crazy.
Glad it's still working. We're you using a higher vg juice when you started getting the dry hits? I don't remember what I was using and just wondering if maybe this is the cause.

No always 60 or 65 vg. That's why It wasn't adding up. I could understand if it was a high vg like 80 and up but 60 or 65 too low to be having problems like that.
Hopefully I can get the .5 to last now. The ni200 working good but the flavor isn't as good as the ss.

Ok, I have yet to actually sit down with a brand new coil and follow the video to a T, but I will do that on my next change. I'm just posting to say I did the poke method to a .25 that was dry hitting at 55 watts after 4 days and it worked like a charm! Thank you! My personal theory is its a wicking issue. When I stop seeing bubbles the burned hits usually start. After I poked the coil, the bubbles are back and I chain vape at 80 watts without a burned hit.

What do you do to dilute it? Did you just buy PG and throw it in?

So glad I found this thread! I have had the black Crown for about a week now. I primed exactly as shown in the video as this is how I prime all my coils. Using the .5 coil, 65/35 VG juice and if I go over 38 watts, holy burnt taste Batman. I did the hole poking through the coil and that does help, but as soon as I refill the tank it's back to the same thing. I have found that leaving the top fill lid a little looser than normal (but still tight enough to not spill!) helps too. I love the flavor and clouds this tank gives, but my go-to Arctic was a heck of a lot less hassle.

Has anyone else had problems with the coil loosening? I decided to go bottom fill just to try it out this time and found that my coil was barely hanging on in there. I hadn't touched it and it was tightened correctly when I put it in.

From Uwell:
It sounds like there may be an issue with the coils. I would recommend getting a pack of replacement coils and try those out. We have had some complaints from customers regarding this issue, and changing out the coil has fixed their problems.
Regards,
uWell

Although I have already told him I changed out the coil several times...OY
