Yes good point. Best to try them both. Still waiting to try the Ni to see if it stacks up to the Starre Pro nickel.

IMO, it was better than the Starre Ni coil, but that's not saying much since I don't like Ni coils.
Well I've tried the .5 ohm SS coil and although I followed the priming steps in one of the previous posts and ramped up the power gradually, I'm still having the same issues. tank is very hot and although it's putting out plenty of vapour, the flavour just isn't here for me.
Not sure if there's an issue with the tank or whether its just not for me. Pity as a really wanted a decent no hasle top fill tank.

I really don't know what to tell you Angus, I suppose either you set the bar really high or you got a bum coil or tank, I still stand by the crown as my favorite, although it does get warm, I find it has the best of all of my collection of tanks, way too many to list. I remember you saying you had a cold, could that be a issue? What kind of ejuice are you trying it with vg/pg % , possible that may play a part. Maybe try a pack of replacment coils or the rba. I still cant comment on that yet as I bought a bunch of coils and I have been lazy to build it. also the Ni coils I have seem to last and last. Hope it works out for you.
Once it has been ran for a minute or two you can just hit it right away at whatever wattage you plan on using then on out. I fire my .25 cold to 95 watts all the time. Sorry it's not working out brother. Flavor should just be outstanding, but I have never used a .5 but I cannot imagine it would be that different other than power handling.
As said, a cold can be a huge issue on flavor. I am starting to get one myself. You may consider setting it aside until that clears up. I find it also hard to blame it on the mod or battery but under-powering things can cause excessive heat.
P.S. If you have a .25, put the mod in power mode and at max wattage with a battery at full charge and at least try it out (once your cold is over). Even tiny puffs should be enjoyable. Best of luck with it.

Angus - for me, I had to go thru one tank full with the . 5 for the flavors to really come out. Don't give up on it yet...

G'day Angus, I am using SS 0.5 on SXMini M in Ti mode @ 35J 280f and getting a decent warm tasty vape with VG70% I could go a lot higher in power but this suits me. Great tank for sure!

A side not to all check that the "O" ring on the coil is in place, I had one fall off into its pack unnoticed and had some leaking issues until I fitted the "O" ring.
Is this a liquid you know you love? What is the PG/VG ratio? Are your ariflow holes opened up all the way? Sorry if it's been mentioned, but how long have you been on this one coil?
A couple things: I see you had a cold as of Saturday and couldn't taste much. Could this still be affecting you? Also, have you tried it not in TC mode? Even at 90 watts in regular power mode with the SS coils, my tank doesn't hardly get hot unless I take absolutely no breaks, but even then it's not so bad I can't touch it, not even close--just warm, maybe. I have not used the SS coils in TC and don't plan on it.
And I see that you got leaking? My best guess is that if you top-filled it, you missed the side holes and it went down the chimney (or you filled it up too high and spilled over into the chimney). I haven't gotten a smidgen of a leak from this tank after countless fills. But me speaking on my experiences is not to discount yours, just to tell you that maybe something you are doing is responsible, but maybe not. Hope you get it it figured out.

I run the .5 at about 35W. Are you limited in wattage in you mod?

Please let me know how that mod holds up. It is on my list of ones I like, mostly because of the 3 batts. Looks good.
The 3 - 18650's are what sold me. 9000mah, should last me all day.

Well, I just got it today. So far so good. No glitches, running great in power mode. Have not messed with temp control yet. I don't like Ni at all, and Ti is definitely better, but not as good as SS or Kanthal, at least to my taste buds. I'll give the SS TCR a shot and see if I like it. If not, I'll just stick to power mode.
I had a Boxer. Great mod, just really was not pocket friendly at all with the shape. The Vero seems to be a much better fit for that. Not as convenient as my D2, but not bad at all. I should be getting my Renegade-X box back from Cerakoting in about 2 weeks. Looking forward to running them side by side.
