Ive had my uwell rafale for about 2-3 months now and loving it, however ive just chabged out my coil to a brand new 0.5 ohm coil, primed it let it sit etc, but when I come to vape on it, (40-50w) I get little vapor production and a horrible taste! almost tastes like oil! its not a burnt taste at all like a burnt coil would taste.

Could it be machine oil?

I dont really want to throw this new coil out if possible as its my last one till I can get to the vape shop.

I bought theese coils online as a pack of four, the first one i used was fine however burnt out FAST! 2 days where as the same coils (0.5 omh) i buy from my vape store I can vape up to 70w and they last me almost 4 weeks!

Bought from UK E cig store online so a reputable site?

Any ideas?

Just guessing, you have a bad coil. This does happen. They're made on automated machinery by the millions; defects happen. I would suggest you order your next set from a different vendor. Some coils are made by people other than the tank manufacturer, and these are frequently lower quality. The only way I know to beat this problem entirely is to start building your own in RTA/RDAs.

I start new coils off in my Crown (after a very thorough priming) at a much lower power level- around 20 watts. And even that's after dry pulling it several times to get juice in. I take hard, short pulls starting at 20 watts (almost no vapor/flavor) & work my way up in 5 watt increments over the course of 20 minutes or so, working my way up to where I like (generally 40-45 watts).

I've went from getting 4-5 days out of .5 coil (I vape a lot) to about 2 weeks since adopting this method. The cotton in these coils is extremely tight & sometimes I can even puncture it with a safety pin & get another day or two out of a coil on it's way out
