The title sums it up really, I recently purchased an Ego-T and just fell in love with it. I let my mom barrow my V2 for a cruise she was going on, and have been using only the Ego as my primary PV. In the past week, it's been only a week really, I've noticed the Ego intermittently giving poor flavor. I just got my V2 back and decided to give it a few toots only to realize that the quality and level of flavor I get is just night and day in comparison to my week old Ego, which sucks of course.

So I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the matter, just preformed a dry burn/cleaned out the wick on the ego in an attempt to breath life back into it. While letting the wick re...wick? I've decided to clean out a few cartos and fill them with the juices I have in my tanks, probably do the same with some of my 501 XL's just to get an all round comparison.

Your V2 runs at 3.7v The Tornado runs at 3.4v

I find stuff in the 2.0ohm range about the same as standard 808 stuff which work best in the 2.5-3.0 range.

You really need to do the test with fresh cartos to see what you feel. I'm interested to see what your results are. There's a reason why the 808 crew is a dedicated crew, though.

Alright, after much cleaning, filling, and figuring (forgot what was in one of my 510 XL cartos lol) I'm sitting down to test my V2 (KR808) against my Tornado-T (Ego-T) in a flavor test to see if the 808's cartos are out doing my Ego's tank and carto...and to see how the tank does against the carto as well IE 510 tank vs 510 XL. Sooo, with a big glass of water on stand by here I go.

Also, just cleaned my tank atty.

Test 1 Halo Tribeca: 808 Carto Vs 510 Tank/Carto
Well, the order went sort of how I expected. The 808 was out preformed by the 510 tank, and the tank out preformed by the 510 XL. Up until now I wasn't able to see what the big deal was with Tribeca, and while it's not my favorite of these 3 it was really good out of the XL carto. As stated in my OP, I cleaned and refilled 808 cartos, and I'm wondering if that may have had something to do in this match up.

Test 2 Halo Prime 15: 808 Carto Vs 510 Tank/Carto
This one was a little different for me, being my favorite flavor so far may or may not have much to do with this. Here I like the 808 over the tank, and the XL is about the same flavor wise as the XL.

Test 3 V4L Wowboy: 808 Carto Vs 510 Tank/Carto
This was closer to test 2 in that both the 808 and 510 XL were really close, the tank here wasn't totally out shined by the other two, but I still have to say that the cartos are the way to go on this.

In this little test it really feels like the 808 carto and the 510 XL carto are better than the ego tank. That being said, it is worth mentioning that the tank did have better vapor production than the cartos, and a hot water clean followed by a dry burn for the coil did wonders for my tank atty (night and day really. I may come back to this sometime and redo it with fresh, empty cartos for the 808 just to give it a real shot.

So a good 808 really seems to give a better flavor experience than the ego-t, though you could always throw a nice carto on your tank system and get the same results (maybe a little better even). Even with all this figured out the ego will probably be my go to PV for most occasions based solely on sheer battery life over the 808 mini's, that and 510 just seems like the way to go if you want to look at accessories, carts/cartos, and interchangeability.

The comparison was done using a Tornado-T and a V2 manual 808 mini, and is completely objective as it's completely based off my personal experience lol. Also, for all the love I have for a manual battery I couldn't believe how I just rolled into my 808 auto, when getting everything ready, and treated it just like I would a cig at the work bench...really just crazy lol.

It just seemed crazy to me that a mini was tasting better than my ego, that and it took me about 30 minutes to do a good dry burn on the tank atty for a cleaning. It may only be needed once a week (maybe twice a week even!), but it's damn hard to beat a carto on flavor it seems and there's no contest on convenience between the two. At least my first dry burn was a success so the tank's can last me to pay day...and maybe then some Boge 2 ohm LR's, or a 1.7 Ressurector XL since I can't stop hearing about them if I try, that and I need to check out a tankomizer.

On a completely different note, has anyone checked out the ego booster vv mod? I was thinking about getting one so I could better use my C3 cartos, and play with VV of course. I'd buy a big battery mod, but I'm already on the radar with my fiance for getting a new PV every week since I started.
