V4L catromizers and high voltage

Hey guys and gals,

I am wanting to try out vaping with cartomizers and have a few questions. Right now I'm vaping a vp pt (5v), an eGo (3.7v), and a silver bullet (6v) and was wondering if I could get away with using v4l cartomizers for all 3 devices.

I know the v4l has a little lower resistance than some other cartos so I wasn't sure if they are hv friendly. I know that this question has came up before but I couldn't really find an answer using the search function.

As long as you have the adaptors, got mine from Altsmoke. The KR808 carts are great on high volt units.

Ok, the ego does not even put out 3.7 volts during use. It's a nice ecig, but during use it's not even 3.7 volts.

6 volts ?!? Nobody recommends 6volts, certainly not manufacturer that I'm aware of. These cartos are probably designed for about 3.7 volts. I actually want PT's to be 4 volts. Too many people are complaining that they're smoking their filler material, but who in the world told them to keep smoking a carto that long. They're desinged to last you about as many hour-puffs as a half of a pack of cigarettes when fully loaded at just under 1 ml. Then we are directed to throw it away. Yes, throw it away is the best thing to do, but that is my opinion. They only cost a dollar something, and I don't understand why people are doing the equivalent of smoking analog butts or the equivalent of using a torch to smoke analongs, and then complaining they're smoking filler material.

Sorry, I hope it's not really OT, but that's my opinion.
To make the long story short, I would only use 3.7v and hope for a 4 volt regulated passthrough before it's too late.

I guess my eGo doesn't make enough power and my sb makes too much for the v4l 510 carto sweet spot then .

I may look into the 510 to kr808 adapter. When I first started looking into v4l cartomizers I was looking for a 510 carto that I could use at 3.7, 5, and 6v. This may not be possible with v4l 510 cartos, no biggie.

Oh, 6v vaping is awesome btw. The majority of people who buy mods run @ 6v, why would you buy a $100+ mod to run 3.7v? Yes it is a "Use at your own risk" but the people who make and sell these mods know how they are being used. Thanks for the advice guys.

Hey brian1g, give the v4l carts a try. I've yet to burn or fry one on my Chuck or GGTS at 6v. I find their performance at 6v is on par with a 510 atty set-up. Simply keep em topped off with juice and you can chain vape with them for several days.

The reason to buy a mod and run it at 3.7v is battery life. You can take it on a weekend trip and never have to change or charge the battery the whole weekend.

I do use my cartos at 6v, but I recommend being fast on the trigger. A 3-4 second drag works well for me. Anything longer than that and I seem to burn them out.

I guess i'll order a few and try them for myself, if they don't work well for me on my sb i'll just use them on my eGo. They aren't really expensive so I'm not really taking much of a risk.

I didn't really expect this to turn into a "what do you think of 6v mods" thread btw . I'll report back when I get my shipment.

5 volts no problem with premum cartos the older ones get a little hot but vape like crazy

I found the regular V4L cartos were having a burnt taste at that high voltage but when I got the Buzz I set the voltage to whatever carto I'm using and the V4L works great on it.

[Ok, as the mod part dwindles out, I just thought I'd add one more thing: brian1g (or anyone), if you're good at modding, why not simply mod your ego so that it runs at 3.7 instead of 3.2 and you then have something perfect for V4L cartomizers, that can last 50 hours between charges! Note that the 0.5 volt increase sounds little, but the heat output from that little fraction of a volt is Enormous!]

Nope, I do not mod any of my V4L gear...I use it all as-is.

I like them too, on the PT, don't get me wrong. I'm just trying to bridge the gap and keep things as consistent as possible. If 5vPTs are here to stay as is, then hopefully the kr8 batteriies will swell just millimeters at most, and provide ~4.7 volts soon.
