Sometimes it's those tricky little seal gaskets and may not be the Hubby's plumbing. If they don't seat just right in the pipe connections at the sink they will leak. Or the rubber O-rings do that too. Hey, at least your hubby tries to do that stuff ! A lot of hubbies aren't even willing to try

Keela & Anita - came home one night after a very busy day's work to find my Mr. in the bathroom with the toilet pulled apart holding a hack saw and a piece of pvc, bleeding and swearing profusely. When I asked my darling what had happened he informed me that he was trying to get the part to fit. He'd been to the hardware store 4 times buying and returning flushing mechanisms that wouldn't fit. He was determined that this one would.
My mistake was asking why he hadn't brought the old one for size the first time out.
That was the last time I helped around the house.

I don't think I'd be much of a help to you there Morandir. About the only thing I know having to do with computers is how to turn them on, off and type a little on the keyboard...LOL Wish I could help though, really I would if I could
It's leaking around the drain....he finally got the pipes to not leak...he blames the sales guy for talking him into the PVC pipes....yea...well....they have nothing to do with the drains....he tried putting putty on both sides of the sink....that didn't work....guess what the yahoo did next??? I coulda killed him.....he bought silicone to put where the drain meets the sink....and he bought WHITE!!!!!
HEEELLLOOOOOO can you say STAINS galore! I could have rung his neck...and it didn't work anyway! I keep trying to get him to just go get new drains with a wider lip.....ha....I'm gonna have to go get it...and if I have to get it, I'm puttin em in......without the white silicone!!!
...I never pass up that kinda opportunity He's a sport though....he'll laugh with me and then tell me "go ahead....call your mom...I know you wanna"....lol

That's too Cute !! Whenever I'm not exactly sure of replacement of anything, I ALWAYS bring the old piece with me. Funny how sometimes my hubby & I can work so well together, it's like we're an extension of one another. The there are other times when we just want to kill one another on a project. LOL !! Funny, I never used to.....then I had a kid......All of a sudden I had patience galore......seriously...like overnight.
He's off next week.....I'm REALLY hoping that is part of his to do list.....
LOL, you're probably right ! They make different size drain baskets for different sinks. Also there are different gaskets that go under them to help seal it.
Maybe I should take a vacation from Florida and stop to see what I could do Morandir LOL, On my way to Ohio to help the sink situation ! LOL !!
