Ms. Keelalagirl I can actually explain the price difference, and pack design. A bud has roughly 4.2%abv, and uses less expensive ingredients. A 60 is 6%abv, and uses roughly 9 times the amount of hops as a bud (hops are expensive). Hops are what give beer it's kick. The 60 is a bitter (and I mean that in a good way) beer that's a good entrance to the land of ipa's. 90 is 9%abv, and has 13 times the amount of hops as bud. Again, more hops, more expensive the beer (120min is $10 a bottle, and as I told Sam when I got to meet him last year he could raise it to $20 and I'd still pay. They not only hop it that long, they dry hop it). The 90 is actually an east coast style ipa, meaning it's got a sweeter kick than that of the west. In certain states it's illegal to sell a beer in 6 packs above 6.3%abv, hence the 4 pack.... Sorry, I can go on forever about beer... :)

I am not regularly a bud drinker...not for a very long time..not since I discovered how much I like the darker stronger brews:)...There is a price diff between Bud and Sams and Stella too....don't mind that either, I just guess I didn't realize there were state kinda issues with 6 packs vs 4 packs based on alc content.....but kinda makes sense as a regular grocery here can only carry so high a proof of alcohol.....will have to check the liquor store and see if they have something other than 4 packs...
probably not, and I am jumpin the gun here as I have yet to try the 90...figured I have 2 more of the 60 so I'd start there:p Thank you for answering the 4 vs 6 though....see I learnt another sumtin new this week:)

We were the only state not to follow prohibition. You were free to drink.

That's why I love history - there's always something new to learn. I teach history (granted it's 8th grade GA history, but I've taught World History, too) and did not know that fact. Guess I'll know what to say if there's ever a need to teach MD history........

Here's hoping all have a good weekend and peaceful Easter........................
