JJ the weather is nasty here also...it's so gloomy and cold and raining. My poor sister had sewage backup in their finished basement...it's a real mess but they got 7 inches of rain last night. There is a lot of flooding around here and the farmers are getting very nervous as the next week shows rain about every day and their fields are huge ponds already.

Evening all. Finally got a chance to sneak on here while my wife does her little bit of homework she didn't finish yesterday. Has been a very good bday. Have literally spent all day with my wife. Lots of alcohol has been consumed by both of us (puppies got some as well)....

One brother, Hubby, FIL, and many other relatives and friends served this country. I thank each and every one of them and everyone else that has or is.

Iowa you got the same weather that we got and to finish this holiday weekend, it's going to rain again!!

It hasn't stopped raining since last Sunday and the forecast shows rain all next week. Our house is fine..but there is a lot of major flooding all around us. Many roads are closed...and it just keeps getting worse as the rain won't quit. They were showing on the news some campgrounds where water came up so fast people couldn't get their stuff out....a lot of expensive campers with water running through them.

I don't know if we have flooding. Wouldn't surprise me since we are just recovering from floods in this state. Hopefully today is it for a few days!!

BHam, I am spending the day recovering from the last two days of messing with new stuff. My printer died, so I had to get a new one and get it all set up wirelessly for the various devices. Got a new phones and service, since US Cellular was taken over by Sprint (did not go with Sprint). New ISP, since I've been fed up with AT&T for a long time now. Had to get everything set up and functional. Now I'm playing and tweaking everything. It's time consuming, not to mention expensive.

This is a really crappy long weekend, weather wise. We will be grilling brats in the rain later on today, I'm sure.

We are going to try and grill between rain storms...got hubby a new food processor so potatoes and carrots with onion and ribeye steaks

I sit here down in Jurassic Park, watching all the weather goings-on back home in the Midwest . . .

Well at least it sure looks like that killer drought is over for the Heartland!

Hi Eleanor...yes I'd say the drought is over. Many farmers are really stressed out as Wednesday is the last day to plant corn for crop insurance and the fields are ponds. I would hope the government will make adjustments since so much of the state is in the situation? Of course that would make sense..so maybe not
