I was going to put this post in the modding forum, but I guess I'm still restricted to the New Member's forum for now.

Anyway I just recently purchased a Volcano Magma 510, and I'm loving it even with just the stock carts. But I'm completely satisfied with the carts no wicking consistently. There may already be a topic for this, but i haven't been able to find one. Has anyone else tried different cart mods on the Magma? and which seem to work better for it. I'm planning on ordering some juice and some other things here in a day or two, and I'm thinking about trying out blue foam or ZFM.

I never found a cart mod that worked for me. I just drip or use cartomizers. Don't use LR cartomizers, however, on your Magma. It will kill the battery to quickly. Don't drip if you have Auto batts I killed my 2 that came with my kit by dripping. Only drip if you ahave the manuals, otherwise purchase some standard 510 cartomizers from a reputable supplier and they will work great on your Magma.

My cart mod for better control -> 1. use the blue foam cut to just about 1/3rd the length of the cart. 2. fill the cart with juice till it is just below the edge. 3. put in foam, make level with cart edge. 4.remove any extra juice that just went over the edge. 5. place cart into atty case. 6. lean back so the battery points up(keeps extra juice out of atty) 7. vap and slowly lower battery as juice is used up. 8. when battery is pointing way down, restart.
Keeps the overflow and noise down when vaping.

Thanks for the help, I do have a drip tip and manual batt for my magma, but I like carts fro when im on the go. It's inconvenient to drip and drive.

I have looked at cartomizers, what exactly is the difference between a catromizer and a cart? besides the atty and cart combined. And is a cartomizer atty just as good as the standard attys?

I have tried PTB, BF and the straw mod. I have found that the teabags are expensive and take the right touch to get them to wick properly. Blue foam is a lot more forgiving but you can run into the issue of not completely draining the cart. If I have to use the stock polyfill I go with a straw mod and cut the stock filler in half (or 1/3) and plug. I notice the straw mod wicking seems to be more consistent but the carts don't last as long as a BF mod. I hope this helps

Thank you for the advise hgigh =D I just spent $100 on an ego and some carts, cartos, juice, basically a little bit of everything. I know i just recently got my Magma, but the ego seems like a better unit (Im tired of the magma batt not lasting long enough for me) and with the 20% code i found in the forums here i just couldn't resist. Anyway I will be trying out different things and hopefully find something that works for me.

Again, Thank You everyone for setting me off in the right direction.
