True it doesn't show much difference..
Are you using the EPDM (black) to test or because you prefer over the clear?
I'm torn with next tank. I love the non screws a lot more then I thought but I'm sloppy as sheet and I'm ruining the grommets. Luckily i ordered spares a few months ago though. I'm also torn with the screw since I'm so .... about where it ends up on the mods.
A little of both really. It started out as a test when I realized it wasn't food grade. Not that it should really matter, I seriously doubt other tank makers are going to the trouble of using all food grade materials the way I do. (I'm sure they're using rubber o-rings etc.)
I wanted to make sure it didn't impart any flavor to the juice or break down from it and it doesn't. It's a little more sturdy and a little more receptive to beng glued (I use super glue which is food safe) than silicone is. The silicone seems to separate from the screw easier after being glued. So it won't last as long as the EPDM will.
Personally, I only use tanks with a side screw. That was why I designed the Sidewinder. The regular Pyrex with grommets can be a little challenging for many people. Hopefully I'll have the caps in stock by the time my regular Pyrex glass arrives. The regular tanks will have the same new glass as the Sidewinders.
