1. Firmware 1.1 for the Ovale eVic makes the device better. It's not true variable wattage and the VV/VW adjustments are available on the top level. While the device still has flaws, the potential of a firmware-upgradeable vaping device is really fascinating. I was actually waiting for 1.1 before I reviewed it and the upgrade actually had more improvements than the vendor initially listed.

PBusardo posted a quick update review of the new Firmware. I gotta say... initially I had no desire to own the eVic... but their quick update addressing some early concerns is promising. A few more revisions and I might just find my self saving a few pennies for it.

I'm interested to see how it can be hacked, rooted, jailbroken, etc... from Phil's review, I got the sense the firmware is a standard bin file. Can't imagine that would be too difficult modify. Custom graphics, font, maybe even improve menu navigation. Nothing I could do, but there are a lot of smart guys and gals out there...

#1 on 12/22/2012 :

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaacccccccckkkkkkkkkk!

I just got vapemail.... I bought some 510 DC 6ml tanks BEFORE I found Ray's shop :/ 1st I watched the video, then watched it a 2nd time and followed along - juice flooded the battery... ACK!!! Not sure what I did wrong, but I suspect juice went in the wrong hole. The 2nd one I tried filling went well, but I am going to let it sit a bit... it tastes funny. I was thinking it was me, all of these tasting burnt or 'nutty'... I tried the other cartos/tanks I have filled and they taste great! Thank goodness I have others.

Yesterday, I tried some Kanger M3 1.0 ml Clearomizers - just a small sampling of juice with 1ml, which is what I was looking for. They are a bit different from the other clearo/cartos I have been using as these have some kind of little reservoir/mouthpiece at the top... They are okay for sampling, but the mouthpieces fill up with steam and juice.

Anyway, it's good to see you all again =]

1. From what I've seen people on this forum say, you can remove that piece and the tank performs correctly. Do a quick forum search and check it out.

#2 on 12/22/2012 : Thanks for the tip, Vince - I'll check it out =] Holidays are the worst possible shipping days... there were 50-60 people at the post office when I went 2 days ago and I waits over an hour to pick up a package :'( My promise to myself was that if I stop the analogs for 1 year, then I buy new car... I think I will accomplish this, but I am not looking at anything until a month prior =]

2. Two of my friends that make custom Android ROMs have been working on custom eVic firmware for almost two weeks. I haven't checked up on them and probably won't see them until after the holidays. They're talented coders, but they're busy and have short attention spans, so while I'm confident they could whip up something cool, I don't know how quickly they'll do it.

1. Good afternoon all, just got up and getting ready to start my 4 day work cycle, yes that means xmas and xmas eve I work...

Ugh that bites. I worked the holidays last year :/ Hang in there!

2. MrPicC I'm feeling a bit better today, thanks for asking :) I've been dealing with a dreadful tooth infection I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy lol. But the meds are starting to do their job now, my pain level went down a LOT, now if the swelling would, I'd be content. I kinda resemble a chipmonk atm lol.

Everyone ready for the holidays? I'm totally gonna be doing a mad dash on Monday, lol.

3 working overnight tomorrow so I can spend Christmas eve in peace and quiet with an irish breakfast and a Christmas story..
I hear ya on tooth pain. My two rear teeth on both sides are broken. I get pain daily for a long time but hate dentists and doctors.
