Vamo 3 - What am I doing wrong?

Okay...this is beginning to make sense. So why would my Vamo give me the opportunity to adjust wattage? Why not just provide the ability to adjust voltage since wattage will be automatically changed?

With voltage you would need to adjust your voltage to your desired vaping level every time you change that atomizer/clearomizer/cartomizer. In other words depending on the resistance of your juice delivery device you will have to manually change voltage with VV.

With variable wattage you can leave the wattage alone and the vamo will adjust the voltage to give you your desired wattage no matter what juice delivery device you screw on it.

So for example I like using Variable wattage. Lets say with my 1.9 ohm clearo I like to vape at 7 watts. then I switch to a 2.4 ohm device. With VW I do not have to fiddle with it the vamo will adjust itself to give me the 7 watts I like taking into account the change in ohm.

Some people like fiddling with it and prefer VV some people prefer set it and forget it and would rater use VW.

You still have it reversed. When you adjust wattage, the Vamo reads the resistance and automatically adjusts the voltage.
Example: You set the device at 6w. No matter what the resistance of the JDS you screw on, the Vamo will adjust the voltage to give you 6w.

In the voltage mode, you set the voltage and the voltage stays where you set it. To change the wattage, you would have to change the resistance of the JDS you screw on.
Example: You set the device at 4v. If you screw on a 2Ω JDS you will get 8w. If you screw on a 2.5Ω JDS you will get 6.4w.

I have both types of devices. For me, it doesn't make any difference which mode I use, because all of the JDS I use on the tube mods are within .5Ω of each other. I also don't switch them very often. In either case, I initially set the power in the range I know I like and adjust up or down from there.

For people who use different resistances and don't want to think about what voltage they are using, they tend to keep the device in wattage mode and just set it to their preferred level (although there is still usually some fine tuning).

Wattage isn't illustrated for some reason. Pretend there is a balloon at the end of the straw the monkey is blowing up. Watts would be the size of the balloon. In the waterfall, watts would be the amount of water in the pool at the bottom.

Because 8w isn't working for you. Turn it down.

You vape at whatever power level tastes good to you, not what a chart or a formula or a person tells you to vape at.

One more thing about this Vamo. How do you guys get to where you don't accidentally push the + or - buttons when it is in your pocket, etc.?

Because 8w isn't working for you. Turn it down.

Yep. And if you don't like how it tastes, adjust it. I have a juice that I like hotter later in the evening. I don't know why.

Usually, the resistance (ohm) of a coil doesn't change. There might be a very minute change as it gets gunky or near the end of its life, which the Vamo will compensate for, but you will be able to taste something off quite soon.

One more thing about this Vamo. How do you guys get to where you don't accidentally push the + or - buttons when it is in your pocket, etc.?

Practice. That's why I prefer a one button device.

Turn it off. I really try not to (not saying never) have a battery or APV like the vamo in my pocket without switching it off first. The good thing with the Vamo is it will remember your wattage before you switched it off, so you don't have to reset it.

Do you mean theoretically? I don't know. If you mean literally, it's because it doesn't have that function.

My , I find the vamo works well at lower settings like 4-6w. Fyi, I prefer a light, airy draw on menthol-based juices.

Simple method for new people. Start at the lowest voltage your vamo does take a vape, adjust up one click and take a vape, adjust one click up and take a vape etc. Keep doing this until you get the first hint of a taste you don't like then adjust down one click. Most people want the highest voltage they can use with a good taste.

More advanced method. Over time we sort of know where to start. Like with a 2.5 ohm juice delivery device we like say 3.8 volts. SO we start there then adjust up or down to taste since there is some variance by juice.

TO keep if from adjusting the + - buttons in your pocket you will have to 5 click the vamo off.

To be honest, I'd rather just have a simple battery compartment type device that requires no adjusting. I prefer that it have a thumb button as opposed to those on the Fast Tech site (push to mouth to activate, bottom button, etc.) Can anyone recommend one that is simple to use, provides a great vape and isn't too expensive?

Have you considered the Gripper? I use one of these with the extension they have for it nearly every day. Small simple variable nothing. They are out of stock now but Mad Vapes generally restocks fairly quickly.
