Yay Me!! I received my Vamo this morning.:rubbing hands with glee:
All I can say is after having countless arguments with my Gripper's PWM, fighting with my VN coil set ups just to get rid of those awful harsh hits, the Vamo is an absolute joy. Never really been a fan of the tube mods but it's not as big or as heavy as I thought it would be.
Boy, I am loving this.:D

I'm wondering if this is similar to the Zmax 1 - if a battery change was done quickly it didn't revert to the default settings. Perhaps it's the speed of the battery change?
ETA: Seems this isn't the case for some users of the Vamo.

Mine's from Health Cabin and is definitely a version 2. Its not some copy. I haven't put my black chrome one through its paces yet. I don't see this is an issue at all - I change batteries and I click back to the watts I want.

2) A potential issues has been found with VW mode after a battery change. Whether this is affecting the "clones" or all Vamos, we do not yet know. See http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/canada-forum/361248-problem-vamo.html

Just wanted to add something, because I've already seen a bit of confusion elsewhere about this - the issue is with swapping out two 18350 batteries and changing them for two more 18350 batteries when using low resistance.
I know you know that tc1 - just emphasizing it for the benefit of those who think it is related to any battery change.
It's low resistance and changing two 18350s.

Both of mine remember the wattage even if the battery is removed for an extended period of time. Drik, where did you get your Vamo? Maybe they are copies and not genuine Vamos or possibly an earlier version of the firmware?

I got mine from a legit vendor, actually the guy that did the earliest Zmax tests on the Polish forums
I think the Vamo I got was an earlier version although it had two springs and the washer - it has the 6 watt "bug" too.

Just waiting for the steel to become available locally.

If it has the 6 watt bug it is definitely a version 1 of the firmware. That was the main issue addressed in version 2 firmware.

It would be nice if we could get empty stainless steel bodies for the adventurous of us that would like to try and swap the electronics from a bad looking black chrome one to stainless steel. The insides are good, just the coating coming off looks like crapola.

That's funny, 'cause I got the new washer (red), the old spring + a new spring but it doesn't have the 6w bug or does the bug appear after some use?

6 watt bug is a voltage spike that shouldn't be there, basically some complained of it giving to poor performance. There is no danger just hits higher than 6w. At least that's how I understood it. Please correct me if that's wrong. I haven't noticed any difference on mine, seems to vape ok at 6 watts but then I'm also new to the watts thing so I'm really not sure what I should be looking for either.

It only occurs on some of the V1's and possibly some V2's also, don't have a clue why though.
Not a biggy for me - I just avoid using the Vamo at 6 watts.

I'm running these POS 2.5 DC's @ 12 watts and everything else @ 10. Guess I don't have to worry about a 6 watt bug!

My understanding is that the 6 watt bug has been fixed as of Nov 20. The bug only occurred when wattage was set at 6w. The vRMS would spike higher giving an equivalent of near 13 watts. If it happened in your device, you would know it. I have a black chrome and vape at 6 watts often. No problem on mine. I'm sure all new devices are fine.

Is anyone's top cap crooked? If so, has anyone figured out if it can be adjusted? Mine is slightly off, higher above the screen than on the other side. I figure it's press fit.

Just press fitted in. Put a sock around the top and try to press it in flush into the tube.

Here are some photos of a disassembled Vamo from a German review video;
