DHL? you should get it in three days. I live in Oregon and when they shipped it to me DHL it landed in Cali, then up to Seattle, then to Portland and over to my place. It was processed in Seattle on the 3rd morning.

May be a slight delay because of the New Year I would think. Will still be fast though.

Not sure why the images stay fairly small when you click the thumbnails (anyone??), but here are my two VAMOs from smoktek! Just got my stainless one today and already had a gunmetal one. I love both but the stainless one looks a bit nicer and really matches my Z Atty U. Also, there are no fingerprints to worry about on the stainless one, while the gunmetal one gets tons!!
Also, the stainless one came with the newer, fatter/shorter spring in the cap, so that's good.
BUT the cap will not screw onto the shorty 18350 mode half of the body, only the longer bottom section- it seems to get stuck on threading in the 18350 mode so I already emailed smoktek asking for a replacement cap, since my gunmetal cap fits on both modes on the stainless body (must be the cap then).

Both bodies operate fine though with one 18650 or two 18350s

Enjoy :)

My ssVamo just got here today and I'm having thee same issue with the bottom cap.

I'd say double champion, considering you've managed to put together a working genesis arrangement for the smiling vamo!

my hat off, ma'am ;)

Yaaah-Hooo!! Success at Last!
Eventually, after just about throwing it all in the bin , losing the will to live, I finally Did It!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you my Vamo (look, he's smiling) sporting an Aga-T with SS/ Cotton Hybrid wick set up, as they say up in these parts, It's Champion!

Okay, so the coils could be neater but hey, no hot spots, no shorts, and once this wick breaks in properly, oh well then it'll be pure unadulterated Bliss!! :D

same charger I use, one of the best you can have for a reasonable price (some 20 bucks)

- two independent charging channels, you can charge two differently-sized batteries at the time
- it really stops charging when the battery is ready (again, on independent channels)
- choice between fast charging at 1A or at 0.5A (for 18350s and the paranoid :))
- wall and car adapters provided

As meli said, you need two spacers (per channel) for charging 18350s in it.

mightymen, what type of charger are you using?
Mine is a Xtar WP2 my Panasonic CGR18650 2250mAh's take a about 3-4hrs to charge, although I recharge when they get down to 3.4V.
I have pair of Torchy 18350 850mAh and they take about 2hrs.
One feature I miss on the Vamo, my Gripper would give up when it got to 3.4V now I have to check else it goes all the way down to 3.2/.1V

Hope the problem isn't affecting an entire run. Did you and filletminion get your VAMOs from the same seller? The endcap on both my VAMOs screw on as they should in single 18350 mode. My chrome model came from Vapor Beast and the SS one came from Health Cabin.

My stainless one with this issue was from SmokTek, so I don't think the vendor even matters, because clearly a few of us have the issue and we bought from different sites. Still waiting to here back from SmokTek about a replacement cap, but God knows if I would even get one that fits....

i ordered mine from HC on 12/21
Yours may have come from a different production run than mine. I ordered my SS version on 12/17 and there were over a hundred available. About 9 hours later Health Cabin was down to 62.

It sounds like the issue is the normal random bad quality control that one expects from Chinese manufacturing rather than an entire production run having problems. I would expect that Smoktek will resolve the issue. Given it's the New Year's holiday it's not surprising you haven't heard back from them yet.

Do your 18350's have nipples or flat? If i'm not mistaken, the main reason for the new springs was because the 18350 and the 18650 were jiggling around and then could lose connection, reset, what have you, so you might just not need the 18350 nippled batts if that is what you have...i have learned that when stacking, flat batts are safer, but i don't really know for sure. I'm using the ICR's and they're working fine for me, but like i said, i'm not a stacker...i know Smoktek only sells the IMR batts with or without nipples...but either way, he'll take good care of you, he's awesome!
EDIT: I just re-read your post and my response has nothing to do with threading problems...haha. I was thinking that it wouldn't actually fit so you couldn't get the end cap to screw on all the way...so nevermind...

As I have posted before my black chrome Vamo's finish started coming off about a week after I received it (from Health Cabin via coop). It progressively got worse and worse until it looked really ugly. I bought some black carbon fiber wrap off eBay and made a wrap using the template previously posted in this thread. The hard part was hand cutting the circles, which if you look closely don't look very good; but they will do for now. Here are before and after pics. I hope my other black chrome Vamo I got from Vapor Break doesn't suffer the same fate. Been using it a few days and so far the finish is okay. I think it was some nasty ejuice that got on the finish that started the problem. Also a difference between the HC and VB Vamo is that the VB Vamo has a CE emblem screened on the back and the HC one does not. So I am hoping the finish is not the same and the VB Vamo will hold up with use.

BEFORE

Note: The sides were even worse but the photos were not very good.

AFTER

I think it is an improvement. A professional wrap probably would have looked better but I could not justify paying $18.00 for a sticker.

    No you can't
I purchased a ;) eGo APV V2 VAMO, from vaporalley.com Came with two 18350 efest batteries included for $58.38. Heavy user since 12/15/12 and my chrome finish shows no signs of wear so far.
Could there be a difference with eGo APV V2 version that it has held up so well ? I also droped it twice works great except for the spring with 18650 flattop battery, I take the slack out by using a:blush: small 1/4 inch nut when installing battery and cover.

Do you have black chrome or regular chrome? Is there a CE mark screened on the back of the unit? My second unit from VB also has a brighter backlight than the HC unit. Both do retain their wattage settings even if batteries have been removed for an extended period of time. Regular chrome doesn't seem to have the finish problem. Only the black chrome.

Glad its been working well for you. Mine has been holding up well too. The black chrome ones have been reported to show wear on the paint finish. I haven't used my black chrome one enough to see any wear, so don't know yet. My chrome one has been fine, like yours.

I am thinking that possibly the first one I got from Health Cabin (via ECF coop) had a finish coat missing. The pic below is form HC's website. In the upper, left corner it shows the CE mark that my Vamo from Vapor Break has, but the one I got from HC does not have this. Possibly there is a clear finish coat and then the CE mark is applied. Maybe my first black chrome Vamo had missed that step. Not sure, just putting forward a theory as to why some show significant wear very quickly and others do not. So far no signs of wear on the second one I got from VB.

I dont know if it was mentioned before because I didnt want to go through all 34 pages, but I just got a "02" message on my vamo and it shut off. It has turned back on and is working fine, but it was weird.... any ideas on why that happened? If it helps, im using a vivi nova on vw and the battery charge was at 3.6 volts. Thanks guys!
