I am thinking that possibly the first one I got from Health Cabin (via ECF coop) had a finish coat missing. The pic below is form HC's website. In the upper, left corner it shows the CE mark that my Vamo from Vapor Break has, but the one I got from HC does not have this. Possibly there is a clear finish coat and then the CE mark is applied. Maybe my first black chrome Vamo had missed that step. Not sure, just putting forward a theory as to why some show significant wear very quickly and others do not. So far no signs of wear on the second one I got from VB.

That might be it! Mine from HC purchased first day of Christmas sale has the CE/ROHS labels, so maybe yours did miss the final coating step

    No you can't
Do you have black chrome or regular chrome? Is there a CE mark screened on the back of the unit? My second unit from VB also has a brighter backlight than the HC unit. Both do retain their wattage settings even if batteries have been removed for an extended period of time. Regular chrome doesn't seem to have the finish problem. Only the black chrome.

YES, regular chrome with the CE mark screened on the back. I guess I was very lucky got the right one.

Here is my newly skinned Vamo with a Tabac T3 (I think Kanger T3 clone) from Heaven Gifts using a 510/Ego adapter. Like the Kanger, the Tabac is too wide to screw onto the ego threads of the Vamo. The threads inside the Tabac needed a lot of working to get the adapter to screw in far enough to make contact. Once Health Cabin resumes regular airmail shipping I will get some genuine Kanger T3s for comparison.

I dont know if it was mentioned before because I didnt want to go through all 34 pages, but I just got a "02" message on my vamo and it shut off. It has turned back on and is working fine, but it was weird.... any ideas on why that happened? If it helps, im using a vivi nova on vw and the battery charge was at 3.6 volts. Thanks guys!

I've only seen one other reference to this and nobody could figure out the reason it does this. Mine has never done it as far as know.

jackbox (or anyone else)... I may have missed it as I've just skimmed this thread, but what ARE those markings "[check mark] ROHS" and "CE"? I recently noticed the "CE" on my MVP. I haven't a clue as to what those mean...

CE means that the product conforms to legal requirements in the European Economic Area (EEA). By putting it the manufacturer is declaring they have complied with all CE directives and the product is fit for sale in the EEA. This is required for products sold in the EEA. ROHS means that the manufacturer is certifying that any dangerous substances (such as heavy metals) that are commonly found in electronic products is below the maximum limits allowed by the EU. No way to know if they really comply, it is just the manufacturer declaring they do. Without these markings the devices would not be legal for sale in most European countries.

02 is speculated to be an electrical short. As far as I know a Genesis atty caused an 02 message one time. Adjusting the coils solved that problem. How "02" is different than "Lo" (total short circuit) or "Lo-Ω" (atomizer below 1.2 Ohms), I don't know. I've also read speculation that "02" could be an "overheat" error message.

Ordered on a Thursday and had it in hand on the following Thursday. Via DHL. I'm ok with that. It was from Health Cabin and I have had good luck with them so far. Just don't order juice or batteries, for some reason (security?) this adds weeks to the delivery. To their credit they state as much on their site.

I'll be getting my Vamo one of these days guys .... I swear. lol
No more ordering direct from China ... at least not something I'm super excited to try.

I agree, voltage lock ... and perhaps even the ability to maintain all settings would be the two biggest upgrades the device could use (however neither are a deal breaker imho).

It's probably worth an email inquiry to Health Cabin if one sees a battery item they wish to order. I got an eRoll with my Vamo because I wasn't in any big rush for my order to arrive. It arrived for delivery in three days via DHL! I wonder if the shipping delay with batteries applies to DHL?

DHL has dedicated customs agents at their facilities and also acts as the customs broker so their packages move through customs faster than standard mail or EMS. FedEx. UPS and other major common carriers also have dedicated customs agents and acts as the customs broker.

You should just go to Adobe's web site (Adobe) and download the free version of Acrobat. Nobody does PDF better than Adobe, they invented it.

Thanks for the hint. Score "-1" for Mac's Preview app (what Apple supplies for reading PDF files). When selecting Scaling = 100% it still prints too small. Selecting 'Full Page', it sets scaling to 97% but prints out close enough to actually use. (Can't select Full Page and 100%, arrgh!)

Not sure if you got yours from Melissa's co-op, but that is where I got mine...it's from HC and has the CE/ROHS mark and (knock on wood) no problems with the BC finish issue here either. I've been using mine almost exclusively for about 2 weeks now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the issue was on a particular run. If it does develop later on mine, it will more than likely get skinned.

For those that had the problem...dang I do hate it for you and hope you all find an acceptable solution.

Thanks for this thread, it has helped me with the VAMO and I am truly hooked on VW...until the next greatest thing comes along. :D
