Vamo Problem???

I have a Vamo V4 using a standard clearomizer and a 2.4 ohm head. I took one draw and it was fine, then the next draw I took, it wouldn't vape at all, and the resistance started reading 9.9 ohm. It's a fresh head so it couldn't be that. Could it be the battery? I'm kind of lost here. Thanks.

Sounds like your atomizer isn't making a connection with the positive pin on your vamo..
Try another coil or try to pull the positive pins out a tiny bit.

I got the Vamo V5 and it I take my tank off (and hence no connection) the display reads NON. Take your tank off and check the resistance again.

I replaced the top ting with strings.

I've had this problem with new coil head in a T3S. Try loosening it up a tad. Sometimes a fraction can help. I pitched the first coil head and when the second one did it, I tried loosening vs. over tightening. 9.9 is proper reading with no clearo attached.

By the way, what voltage are you vaping on a 2.4 coil head?

4 watts or 3.1 volts.

A very common problem to new users is screwing devices onto your PV too tight and forcing the center post on a PV down so it stops making contact. Then the intuitive thing to do is screw the clearo on even tighter - which only makes things worse.

Do you have another clearo or other device to try on your VAMO first, to rule out that the coil is just a dud, before we start messing with the center post on the VAMO?

Yes I tried a different tank and it works 100% normal now.

This is happening all the time with my v5 I got it on the 7th January and have already been through 4 atomisers! Every time I put a fresh one on it works again and then it breaks again!

Might try using a 510 to ego adaptor to see if that helps. Do the V5's work with flat top or button top batteries? The V2s that I have can use either.

Be sure you are in RMS mode and not Mean mode. To check and change hold down the - button for about 10 sec. then if it reads Mean then do it again and you should see RMS once you see that it is set. Mean mode has been know to fry coils quickly. Now that is for the V5 on early versions I think you want it set to 2 not 1.

It's not a battery issue...if you hold the left button down it will give you the current voltages of the battery somewhere between 4.2 and 3.2 depending on battery charge state. When you hold down the right buttion that will give the resistance of the attomizer in ohms. Any reading of 9.9 can be treated as invalid. It means your vamo can't figure out what the resistance is. This is usually a connection issue...retighten your tank...but not too tight you don't want to strip the threads. The other meaning of the 9.9 reading is that your atty has gone bad. If this is the case you need to replace your addy or start with a new tank.

When ordering tanks I generally buy 5 replacement atties with those at the time of purchase. They may last a day or two...they may last 2 weeks...it's hard telling but they eventually go bad and you'll get that 9.9 reading. I've even had some that don't work from the get go.

V4 doesn't have mean mode. Refer to http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vamo/491362-vamo-v2-vs-v5.html for differences in vamo versions. I believe that thread also tells you about which mode is which if you are using a different versions.

Also if you are using VV (variable voltage) make sure you start at lowest setting or you could blow out your attie by supplying too much voltage. If you are using VW (variable wattage) it shouldn't matter when changing your tank/attie. I have a VAMO V3. Perhaps if absolutely nothing works:

Take batteries out and make sure they are pointed correctly.

Restart the system.

Put on a coil with more resistance.

Make sure there is no eJuice ruining the contact between the coil and the mod.

Other than that, I can't think of anything. I do wish you good luck.

Ok. Top coil CE5 type. Top fill, right? Just the act of unscrewing the top can cause the coil to loosen since the vent tube makes contact with the silicone cap on top of the coil assembly. You need to make sure the coil assembly is firmly screwed in place, and check it each time you remove the top to fill. That could be one source of the problem.
