I had a Lava Tube, didn't get on with it, lots of burnt tastes from it, also didn't work great.
Then I got the Vamo, loved it and it works great.
100% forget the Lava Tube and buy the Vamo.

If you want it as a kit form this is a great price and kit, great charger and batteries:

Just the body:

I would also recommend the Stainless Steal over the Chrome, as the Chrome on will rubb off over time, the Stainless Steal one will look and last longer....

Definitely the Vamo due to it being variable watt (VW) and having a 5 amp switch. Just make sure you set it to RMS (N02) mode and adjust your power in wattage!!!
as long as you are in the #2 setting (most accurate) you can adjust in volts or watts, with EQUAL success. Its all what you prefer. Trust me! ; )

Why do you prefer no 2 setting? Im so used to my settings being in volts that might take some getting used to. .

There are two "hidden" settings in the vamo. You can either set it to no1 (mean) or no2 (RMS). Mean hits harder than RMS and it not accurate at all. It's all about bunch of technical jargon blah blah. Just set it on "no 2".

Many have had issues with the VV setting on the Vamo, as it is an "average" power output. I have read they are getting rid of VV altogether in version 3. Plus, VW (RMS_N02) is much closer to "set & forget", as it will sense the change in the resistence of your atty/carto and automatically adjust the power to maintain your settings.

Well it seems to be a unanimous vote for the vamo now I just need a lil help understanding what exactly to order on the fastech site as it give you like 10 different ways you can order it. I know I dont want the 6 in 1 set because I don't care for the vivi nova's that come with it.. any help with that??

The Vamo has two setting which apply to VV and VW. "No 1" is an average setting. If the Vamo is set on NO 1 then both VV and VW will be on that setting - which means the pv will hit harder than what is displayed because No 1 is not accurate.
"No 2" is RMS and is accurate - it covers both VV and VW.
Set the Vamo on NO 2 and leave it there.

People with Vamos have not had issues with VV - perhpas you meant AVG? I've been using and following what happens with the Vamo since they were released and I've not seen anyone having issues with VV once they set the Vamo to No 2 mode which is RMS. They simply need to know to set the Vamo on No 2 mode, and then both the VV and VW are accurate. That's my experience also. What they are talking about getting rid of is the AVG or No 1 mode, and just keeping RMS (No 2 Mode) for the VV and VW.
