Can you just use regular vanilla flavoring that you get in a grocery store? Not the fake kind, but pure vanilla extract.

No, you need a concentrated flavoring. They are cheaper than Vanilla Extract anyway.

It's horrible. It's incredibly runny, won't stay in an atty, and the sugars gunk up that atty so fast it's rediculous...

capella has good vanillas.. I love the vanilla custard but I've heard it's, um, bad for you so I'm trying to switch over to the cupcake. It's pretty good with FA cookie and some sweetener. They also have pretty good prices.. currently you can buy 4 and get two free!

And I'm a big fan of Perfumer's Apprentice Vanilla Swirl... No diacetyl producers, either, which I think is pretty important.

Some of their flavors DO have them, like the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, which is a shame because it's sweeter and less floral than the Vanilla Swirl, but I like the floral notes. Many don't. Dunno if Capella's has them or not, but many vanillas do.

(This is the chemical that causes "popcorn lung", google it, as I can't explain it. It's fine to eat, but not to inhale.)
