Damn! I'm kicking myself for reading this thread; thought I'd just check out the latest gossip, read this thread, went to the web site just to check out a few things, threw a bottle of juice in the shopping cart, then another xl batt, more carts, another usb charger, then convinced myself this will wait for my next order (presumably over a St. Pats sale), when BAM! Place Order box was clicked on. More things I didn't need but just HAD TO HAVE; this is getting ridiculous, where the hell's the toll free number for vape-Anon anyway? I can't keep hanging on this subforum, you are ALL ENABLERS! :w00t:

What in the world does need have to do with it?

As far as quitting smoking, I haven't. It's always there and constantly reminding me of that fact. But I've decided not to smoke one today.

I like that. For me, it's still: "I've decided not to smoke one right now."

For most that is just how it will always be.....no matter what the drug of choice.

Forbid something, or wrap it in shame, and it becomes exponentially more appealing. I think it helped me immensely that I never made myself any promises or resolutions, or incorporated it into a quit smoking regime mindset. I just liked 'em better. So Born's video is invaluable.

I know, but we addicts are so messed up. I had no expectations to quit (or so I was telling myself). I was curious more than anything. And I thought maybe this would be a better device to tie me over between cigarettes than a gum or a lozenge (God I hate those!) And then I got my batteries and my chargers and my little cartos and I really liked them, they were fun, they tasted good, I had my hand to mouth thingy going, and the fake smoke. That combined with all the stories I'd been reading here made me think again about quitting. And the sheer thought of quitting smoking sent me running for a cig. Dr. Pavlov. Really bad associations. Never mind.

I'm expecting a full report on the peach and other flavors.

Thanks.

You see, those who take five puffs and are done with analogs are the lucky ones. They have every right to celebrate and rejoice and have a parade and fanfares. I envy them and their triumph over the NicoDemon is a phenomenal achievement. But there are others, like me, who still have doubts. We puff enthusiastically, but keep a pack of analogs handy. We are unable to cut the cord. We read the success stories and begin to wonder...what's wrong with me, why can't I just quit? And all the bad memories of previous quit attempts slowly come back to haunt us. Gums, patches, Zyban, Chantix--all failures.

Born, I consider myself something of a success story, I'm down to 4-6 analogs a day, I can now go for hours without one, but I'm not cig-free. Just hours before watching your video I bought two packs of analogs (not a carton, though, as I usually do) because I just had to have them around. I wasn't proud of it. After watching your video, I went right back to vaping with renewed hope and determination.

Those two packs are still in my drawer. One has been opened and is missing a few cigs. But I don't feel lousy about it anymore. Thank you.

I could have written this myself and I too (if I'm honest with myself) didn't intend to quit - I just wanted something to use while flying, in the movies, at a restaurant at my sister's house, at a non-smoking hotel, at an outdoor stadium :)rolleyes:) to use but yeah, when you read about how so many people not only quit but don't even MISS analogues (which I find mindboggling) it does lead to a bit of: what the heck is wrong with me?

So it's good that so many are so supportive of those who like me "still cheat on our new GF/BF" with analogues.

Oh and yeah, I'm also totally addicted to ordering from V4L - damn those free samples! I think that's what I'm addicted to: what are they going to include THIS time?

Thanks, Yanks, for sharing your story. You made me feel better, and we both made Born feel better, so it's all good. I decided to count the cigs I didn't smoke, rather than those I did. The numbers just look much better this way.

And say hi to NY, wherever you are. I used to live in Manhattan, in Chelsea. Three blocks from the Chelsea Hotel. I still miss it, after 21 years in SoCal.

No problem - and good idea on counting the ones you didn't smoke as opposed to the ones you did.

Will do but let me tell you: you didn't miss all the damn snow we had this winter.

I'm in Brooklyn which is the "new Manhattan"

I used to travel to SoCal a lot on business but not so much anymore :( if you aren't a Vegan have a Fatburger for me - there are none in NYC :(

We'll do, they're all over the place. If you have an H&H bagel. Everything, with cream cheese, lox, tomatoes and red onions.

Brooklyn--a new Manhattan? I haven't been there since 9/11. I just couldn't--face it. I can't imagine the skyline without the Towers... But my California children want to go; maybe it's time.

Goodnight.
