One of our local B&Ms will be closing their doors next week. I believe that in my area vapor shop over saturation is here. One store is on it's last legs and it looks like Old Mother Hubbards inside.

Of course, it's due to poor business decisions on their part and a terrible location but their piece of the pie will help to buttress the other stores in the area.

RIP local vapor store. :(

in minnesota we have established tobacco store's all over.
the better ones or should i say smarter have added vaping supplies as well.
lately a lot of vape only stores have opened as well.
it will be interesting to see what comes out of the wash.
vaping is really catching on here.i think the established tobacco store's
have an advantage in as much as they have potential new vaping
customers walking in every day,and have there traditional sales to fall back on.
regards
mike

We have several smoke shops that have been around forever but they seem to be in the non tobacco side of things. Now they have vape stuff. Tattoo shops and adult stores seem to like the add on business. Every gas station mini mart has a few cigalikes and one has EJuice $4.99 painted on the window.

Only one fancy vape lounge just outside of town and they are opening a second location in town. I only went in once. Nice stuff with no prices on it. hmmm

What I have noticed with the smoke shops at home carrying vape supplies is that it is cheap knock offs and the juice is horrible! We have two vape shops here in Waco and I work at one part time and enjoy it. Even before I worked there. It just depends on the deals they have and the quality of juice that is sold.

There is one near me that I am not sure will make it. The service is good, the products are good but the juices they make are too strong. I have gone in a few times and I hope that he makes it but the juices are not very good. I thought I bought tobacco and it was so menthol that my head drained for quite sometime. The cherry tobacco was good it was like a cherry lifesaver. It was too strong. It's not bad but I have to cut it way down or it's too strong. I hope he makes it but I'm not sure. There are several around and I try them to see what they have. I have looked at places online and am still a little hesitant because I like to actually see, touch and try before I buy.

Of the four closest store to me, all create their own juices. One sells other commercially available juices in addition to their own.

Two sell hardware at "suggested retail prices." The other two prices hardware at more reasonable levels.

The one of those four that's going out of business sells their hardware SRT and no juices outside of their own.

The business that sells below SRT and provides juices in addition to their own is the most successful in the area.

I do find it odd that many don't/won't follow others successful business models that leads them to failure.

we have two here that i know of. about 20 minute drive from each other. Only have been to one of them and their prices are crazy high IMO. I dont use them but the guys down their are really nice and seem to get good business. I know alot of people that buy all there gear from them because they dont want to order online and have to wait.

hear the other shop is better and I might have to make a trip up there

The Tobacco shops around here, like mentioned above, sell crappy vapes and grotesque juices.

The Headshop near me sells good vape gear and decent juice, but all at outrageous prices. Like, $80 for an MVP2, over $400 for ProVaris.

I drive across town to get to this place. http://www.itisvapor7.com/

thats unfortunate. Im in massachusetts and i only have like 3 vape shops within 30 minutes. 2 in which are owned by the same people. So if i was to say, they are doing pretty well. And heck it almost makes me want to go and open up my own seeing as there is currently a huge demand for this stuff.

Where I live (in Denver's foothills), we don't have a nearby vape or smoke shop ... er ... check that ... I haven't bothered to look for a vape shop and I'm pretty sure that if I did, it would be down the hill in Denver. Our one smoke shop closed down some years ago.

I use the Internet exclusively for my vape supplies and devices. I don't think there's a B&M out there that could compete with the on line stores - their prices being lower than the B&Ms.

Since vaping is not a hobby for me, I tend to stick to one pre-mixed flavor and I still use cartomizers and battery sticks. I don't experiment with either flavors or devices. I'm a purist in the sense that I exclusively vape instead of smoke. If the vape industry were to go poof in the night, I would be in for a rough ride and some sleepless nights because ...

... I will NEVER pick up an analog again.

We only have one here that I know of and their online business is much bigger than their walk in business. Even though they get very busy with walk ins. I think the biggest thing that makes them so successful is that they ALWAYS ship orders same day on orders placed before 2pm and next day for all others. They do this day in day out without exception. This is, and has always been, their main priority. In any business today the only way for a business to distinguish themselves is with customer service.

They are closed on Sundays, so all orders placed after 2pm on Saturdays ship on Monday.

There are lots of places that I have ordered from that take 2, 3, 4, or more days to ship. And I know I like most others just hate waiting.

we have one in our little town and they are making money hand over fist! they have all the newest mods all the way down to inexpensive starter kits...no blu's allowed!!!
they are moving into a bigger building in the next couple of months and will have a pool table, wrap around couch center table, big screens, etc. just like a vaping bar.
currently they have a great tasting station and a huge amount of new mods in the glass case. they make their own juice also which is really not too bad, i love their RY4 and i always buy a bottle of peach and regular tobacco and mix half and half, pretty darn good 24mg nic.
it is always crowded in there and it is only as big as my master bedroom w/o the bath!! so moving will help a lot. i do order online, for Boba's but i like to keep my money local, so i really don't mind spending the extra to keep them going. they sell online also.

Truthfully, I don't know how these places are able to keep their lights on.

Prices are double in the b+m here. One has several juice flavors that I can't live without so I'll keep buying those. However, it's expensive and the bottles are smaller in size, compared with others.

Many of the shops around here are also storing their sample trays, behind the counter. People steal the tanks so they have to hide them.

One of our local B&Ms will be closing their doors next week.

Generally speaking "B&M" stores are having a difficult time competing in an internet world; it's not just with vaping stores. B&M stores cannot offer the variety (and in most cases the same low prices) online-stores can offer (thinking books here). This is why customer service is crucial in my opinion. My vape store also tends to really overcharge customers. I don't expect the same low prices, but many times I'm shocked what they are charging people. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

I cracks me up when I carry in something purchased online, to a b+m. They have to ask "how much did you pay for that?" I feel like saying, a ton less than you're asking and tax free too LOL!
I'm amazed that they make any hardware sales at all, very surprising considering the popularity of the internet.

And yet, I sold a MPV 2.0 at local store for $94.99. And I don't even work at the store. Another store one mile away sells 'em for $64.99.

(I don't interfere with any stores sales, BTW)
