vaping might not be for you if you are just looking to get high from it...

Please ignore this response that I quoted above. There is nothing wrong with seeking to get the same effects from vaping that you do from analogs.

You are getting some good advice from DoubleEwe about starting with a much lower power setting and gradually increasing from there. Please try this and report back. It never hurts to see a doctor as well as you seem to have some sensitivities.

Good luck!

Try turning down the vape until you find the minimum wattage/voltage that will produce the same amount of vapor as the cigarettes you once smoked. It's popular now to create clouds. Doing that may not be safe and will definitely cause lung and throat irritation in most people over time. Yes, VG is smoother, but it has a reputation for causing a heavy lung feeling in many vapers. PG is more flavorful, but tends to irritate the throat and lungs if overused.

Try 2 ohm atomizers at 3.7v for a while and see how your throat feels. See a doctor to make sure you don't have a respiratory virus or infection.

This is part of your problem!
You are using it at the highest setting! P = Power and 15W is far too high for stock atomizers. (6V is the highest voltage too)

I would suggest turning the dial down to 7W, start from there and increase the power little by little until you find a setting that you like.

However, whatever tank you are using probably has burnt coils now... The bad taste probably won't go away... you should replace the coil and/or look for a new/better tank...

As for the nic rush, as pointed out, I use 6mg and get a serious rush if using a dripper, and still quite a thump from a kayfun or fogger... but I also get a lot of vapor... On a smaller tank you can't get that kind of output so higher is good... As far as the 24mg, it's fine... at least for now... get your probably straight and you'll probably find out it's too much and you'll want to start bumping down, 18, 12, etc... but for now it's fine...

Once you get your settings dropped down, probably in the 8-10 watt range, and preferably new coils, if you want the maximum nic absorption with no "hacking fit" take a nice long draw into your MOUTH... Don't use your lungs to suck in, ONLY your mouth... Once the vapor is drawn into your mouth let it sit there a minute... take a moment to taste it... Then open your mouth and inhale it into your lungs... Then exhale it through your nose nice and slowly...

The molecules in vapor are much larger than smoke... It doesn't penetrate as deep into the lungs as smoke.... A lot of the nic is absorbed through the mouth and nose versus cigarettes where it's mostly absorbed in the lungs... So let it spend plenty of time in the mouth and nose... Believe me, get it right and that 24% will give you a serious head rush... :)

turn it down, you're dry hitting almost too much power, not enough juice soaking in the wick.

24mg is too much for you (hence the nausea, that's your body's way of saying wow too much before you make yourself toxic)

get to a doctor if you're coughing up green/yellow or chunks of mucous.

your asthma (reactive airway) might be the cause with some of the problems (wheezing) juice too, some gives you "popcorn lungs" so go to a lighter juice and 100%VG when wheezing..

you're not ever going to get that head rush like you did with ciggies, but you can deliver nicotine to your nervous system adequately to get a good buzz going with the ecigs, I take two hits off Ed's 18mg and ahhh I'm there.

good luck!

Puppycakes, the nicotine absorption from e-cigs takes place mostly through the mouth and nose, so you don't have to inhale. Even if you inhale into the lungs you'll absorb less nicotine than with smoking.

I would also recommend checking with a doc, to make sure you don't have bronchitis.

The head rush that you're missing comes for the carbon monoxide in the smoke, not from the nicotine, so you're not likely to get the same rush from vaping no matter how much nicotine you use.

Vaping is different than smoking and it can take a bit of time to get used to it.

I have been thinking a lot about what you said about the CO causing the head rush.... So I'm going to test this with an analog and see if that's what the issue may be. I do notice that if I wait long enough between vaping I do still get a lovely head rush, but it has to be about 10+ hours or so. Don't get me wrong, I won't use it as an excuse to start smokin' cigs again, I'll just have to start having vape sessions spaced further apart, analogs are sooooooo gross I feel like I have to brush my teeth three times in a row and take a shower to get rid of the taste/smell uuuuugh.

You've gotten some good advice so far! Have you tried turning the power down, and is it better? And someone mentioned replacing the coils you had been using because they are probably burned beyond usefulness, this is good advice.

Did you get your set-up at a local shop? If so, they seem to have been seriously negligent informing you about how to properly use this equipment.

I've gotten so much advice so quickly that I'm going to have to reply to some of this tomorrow! I did try turning my settings down and it does burn less, but I'm going to have to wait a wile before I can really know if it'll give me the same nicotine head rush, since I've been puffing on it since reading this thread. I didn't get it at a local head shop, I bought it online because 2 friends recommended it. They did not, however, tell me how to properly use it! I don't even know how to tell if my coils are burned out, or how to replace them. It seems I have A LOT of research to do, I didn't know things were this complicated.

I am very relieved that a local shop did not sell you this and then just send you on your way! That would have made me very angry. Yes, there is a lot to learn, but you are in a great place for that learning right now. I forgot what sort of tank you said you have. I'll go back and look. One resource for learning all about your equipment is to search for it on YouTube. There are lots of videos with reviews and tutorials. If you search for your particular tank you should find some instructions for how to fill, clean, replace coils, etc...

It seems complicated at first and I believe it should be explained that there is a learning curve. At least we have a wonderful forum that we go turn too!

A lot of people have given you really solid advice here. I would also recommend looking up your equipment on YouTube. For instance, how to change out a coil, how to clean your tanks.

To answer your question on the coils, if you get a burnt nasty taste, your coil is burnt out.

Thank you, I have noticed that my 100%VG I do feel a little less burn and I don't wheeze and start coughing. Are some people just sensitive to PG? Also what do you mean by "Ed's 18mg", is Ed's a brand? I'm a noob, I did a quick google search and can't figure it out. :)

For everyone asking, I have no idea what kind of clearomizer I have and I don't know how to find out. I have an itaste VTR, after a few google searches I can't seem to figure it out. It's whatever came by default with my itaste VTR, I even checked the website I bought it from and it doesn't specify. Can anyone identify it?

EDIT: I THINK it MIGHT be an iClear 30S clearomizer, but I'm really not sure.

A lot of people have sensitivities to PG and VG alike. PG is what gives you that throat hit and also makes the flavor pop! I lean towards more VG % in my juices so I do have to add extra flavoring shots, just a heads up.

Ed, I believe is Ginny's Mister. Most of our SO (Significant Other) vape as well. I vape 0mg nic and my Mister vapes 6mg so if I need a nic rush I usually take a hit off his.

It should have come stock with a iClear 30S Tank

Can you post a pic or link to your set up?

I'm not sure if that's all you mean by that! But this is what I have. It's an Innokin iTaste VTR, it's as it came in the box, pretty much.
