People keep bringing up alcohol, but I can't recall looking at any bottle in the store and seeing cartoon characters on them,
Captain Morgan? Pirates (at least the caricatures of them like Jack Sparrow and Captain Morgan) can be argued to be attractive to kids.

What about "whipped cream vodka?" All the fruit flavored alcohol in colorful bottles?

I'll put it this way: if smoking were as benign as coffee drinking, we wouldn't be having this conversation. No one needs to buy highly concentrated caffeine -which can certainly kill you. Nicotine has a much lower lethal dose. So there's one avenue of harm.

Having said that, I don't see the big deal at all in selling zero nic products to minors. There is no evidence that vaping is a gateway to cigarettes. Of course there's no evidence for any of the gateway type of arguments. Our laws are based too much in fear and not enough in freedom and common frickin' sense.

If smoking were as benign as drinking coffee, we wouldn't be vaping. Vaping is not smoking, vaping is orders of magnitude less potentially harmful than smoking, putting it in a relative risk group with things like energy drinks, and municipal tap water.

Concentrated nicotine can be harmful, but it is clearly labeled as such. E-liquid is not the same as liquid nicotine.

Concentrated caffeine is potentially fatal. So is bleach. Out of the possible fatal things in a household, cleaning chemicals will probably always be the biggest problem.

The phrases "market to children," and "target adults," need to be defined clearly. Nothing should be left to interpretation. Otherwise, just say you won't sell to minors.
Definition: A load of crap used to demonize the vaping industry

Once again, this is another issue that can be avoided with this: WATCH YOUR KIDS!!! Seriously, if your kids are getting e-cigs that shouldn't be, more than likely you aren't watching your kids enough.

This is a market that is doing fine without any government intervention. Quality control is assumed from people who open e-cig shops and KNOW not to sell to minors. Yet they do.

People need to realize that you can't simply eliminate something into oblivion. There will ALWAYS be minors buying cigarettes and e-cigs, whether it be shops just letting them or they get someone else that is of age to buy for them. This is an issue that will always be an issue, regardless if the government does anything. What they should be focusing on is MINIMIZING.

A poorly worded rant I know, but I'm having trouble expressing my opinions in a well thought manner without spouting vulgarities.

We also need to remember that in many instances, it's much easier for kids to get things that are illegal, as they're not regulated in any way. IMO, banning the majority of e-cig related things is just opening a door for a black market, where kids could get their e-cig related things much easier and with the possibility of more harm.

It's like marijuana...it might be illegal, yet teenagers still get a hold of it rather easily. Regardless if e-cigs get banned, people still end up with them in their hands.

Check out the Bronies documentary if you're curious.
Can I NOT do that?

Wow, you've only been on the forum for less than a month...
And you're already holding back the vulgarities?

You're going to need to toughen up if you want to survive the ANTZ garbage.
It flows like a river on a daily basis, and has for years now.

I'd sure like to build a dam that would shut them up for good.

As a father with a little girl, I've watched more of My Little Pony than I'd admit in public. That being said, I can see the appeal. It's one of the few shows that I really like the morals and lessons of. As for the vulgarities, I just never come on here drunk lol.

Ignorance annoys me, no matter where it's coming from haha. I only comment on topics I'm familiar with. That being said, don't know the "ANTZ garbage" too well.

Just looked it up...yeah those annoy me to high end lol.
If you Googled "ANTZ" then it appears you got a movie.
Those aren't the ANTZ you'll soon come to know and despise.

ANTZ = Anti-Nicotine and Tobacco Zealots

Here's some lovely garbage from Satan GlANTZ himself...
How nicotine and e-cigs (even without nicotine) damage lung cells (which helps explain reduced lung function) | Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education

He doesn't allow vapers to post on his blog.
So don't bother trying.

The scariest part is, this isn't the ANTZ.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but to me this "pledge" or whatever they want to call it is some in the industry saying:
While some e-liquid manufacturers might be targeting kids with their flavors and/or marketing, those of us who are on this list have promised not to.

Notice the baby bottle nipple toppers. Marvel, Barbie, Nintendo, Lego, Hello Kitty, no idea that that one is, and Disney.

We all know little girls love Hello Kitty. Look at the cute little charm!

Can't forget My Little Pony and Lisa Frank! Also, My Little Ponies, the new show, has an enormous adult following. Check out the Bronies documentary if you're curious.

Of course, we aren't talking about an alcohol alternative here, but cigarettes. And no, those aren't those old. Found all of those by googling "Hello kitty alcohol", and those cigarettes were from a blogger who posted about them in 2011.

Edit: I was reading the comments on the blog and just needed to mention that the 2nd Hello Kitty cigarette picture is faked, in the sense that the Hello Kitty tin is actually a band-aid tin. Cigs are still pink, though.

2nd Edit: My eyes are bad. Can't believe I missed it, I studied this in college lol. The cigarette filters are photoshopped. They're not pink but normal tan color.

Um...I just posted a bunch of liquor being advertised with children's toys/whatever logos. Marvel, Lego, Barbie, Hello Kitty, My Little Pony, Lisa Frank stickers and Disney, which I found extremely easily by doing an online search. Not to mention the Hello Kitty cigarettes.

Ummmmmmm seriously? ....none of pictures you posted are actual products for sale

Your first picture......

Anna Utopia Giordano | POP Bottles Project

The Italian designer Anna Utopia Giordano has come up with an art project in 2012 with a humorous design concept that mixes famous alcohol brands and kids toy makers. She created Pop Bottles, a series of alcohol bottles branded with iconic names like Lego, Nintendo and Disney, and complete with rubber baby bottle tops. There are a number of mash-ups including Fisher Price and Jack Daniels whiskey, Marvel and Martini, and Barbie and Absolut vodka. Giordano says: The bottles are NOT for sale, they are part of an art exhibition. This is an art project to raise social awareness on topics such as alcohol abuse by teens, alcohol abuse by pregnant women, the disinterest of some parents towards their children (abandoned for days between toys and video games), how far marketers can go to gain the attention of their younger customers. There are no commercial purposes.

....and a quick google seach shows hello kitty wine/champaign is no longer for sale anywhere in the US or anywhere else that I could find ......all the rest are photoshoped pictures.
