My only question is how do I get the button cover to attach?

Edit: included were two pre wrapped coils? They measure out to .59. What kind and gauge is this of wire?

You should have got a small piece of thread with your button cover. Just place the tread over the stock button and put the brass one on and cut the excess thread off.

How many wraps were the coils. Might be able to tell from that...it will be just a guess though.

There was no string or thread in with the two new buttons I just got with the LP Grand. NP as there are endless things in any house that can be used. I took some small gauge nylon twine, unraveled down to an individal strand then divided it in half and it worked just fine.

A few days before the loose brass button was a problem with the used Mini I bought, floss was suggested, I didn't have any so cut a very narrow sliver of blue painters tape that happened to be on my desk and used that... it also worked fine.

Looks great, congrats!

I have started using bits of cotton to attach my button covers. I use KGD, after I cut a piece of wick, I peel off the top and bottom layers (and use the center for wicking) I then cut a small square just bigger that the button out of the outside layer. I lay the cotton over the button and press the cover on. I always have plenty of cotton bits laying around so there's never a shortage of material.
