Hello everyone. I'm glad I found this forum. I am actually not a vaper, so I hope I am not persona non grata here. The reason I joined is because I want to learn all I can about vaping so that I can do a better job. In the shop where I work they are undestaffed, so I have no training and basically work in the store all by myself for a 10 hour day. You can imagine some of the embarrassment I have experienced to this point. I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos 2 trying to learn a little bit and I have been taking apart the kits and what not that we have in the store. However we have a very limited inventory...... I guess I'm just here to read and occasionally ask a question.

I would have a word of advice: Be kind to your vape shop worker. She may be ignorant like me. I have had a few men cuss me out because I couldn't find the coil that they didn't have a name for. I want to be able to help people who come in , but is it my responsibility to figure out what they are vaping-- out of all the various contraptions out there?

Thanks for having me.

That's plain rude. If I don't know what I'm using, how can I expect someone else to??

Welcome to ECF, your desire to learn more to be able to help more people in the shop is commendable, seems like something not enough do :)

Since you're looking to learn more about what your shop carries, maybe make a list of devices, mods, tanks, and so on, to refer to so you can find the right threads for those? Might be better able to find the info you're looking for :)

Hello @Clouds In My Coffee and welcome to ECF.

Sorry to read about your experiences.

You came to the right place to learn. Ask away. There are plenty of folks here with much experience who are more than willing to help.

I would have a word of advice: Be kind to your vape shop worker.
And all humans. Kindness travels.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
REtail's a tough gig sometimes, but working in a boutique setting with no knowledge of the product is even tougher and customers don't tend to take that that situation kindly (especially addicts, like vapers) since they usually pay the highest prices possible so they expect a higher level of knowledge and service. So...keep that in mind, too.

Welcome to ECF, Clouds In My Coffee. I think your reason for being here is just great and I hope you learn a lot here and pass that knowledge to your customers. Another thing to note too, don't try and push any of your shop's products here. Though I think it would be OK to ask a question about something you're selling, you might want to PM one of the moderators here for clarification. Welcome again.

Thank you all for your kind responses. I am well aware that a vape store worker needs to be as knowledgeable as possible, which is the reason I am here. I try to learn from every source--YouTube, forums, hands-on, and CUSTOMERS in the know.

Sometimes vape shops don't have the luxury of having well-trained folks around-the-clock. We all know that good help is hard to find. I hope that a good attitude is the next best thing.

I am "old-school" customer first, and really have no desire to sell a customer more than he needs. I go under the assumption that most newbies need an inexpensive pod system, such as a NovoX or Novo4 until they can figure out what works for them and get used to the change.

I just want to be proud of what I do.
