Three or so years ago when I started vaping only one show was in denton the employees sucked and knew.nothing but really wanted to quit and stuck with it. And I was happy with my.ego t type a atty. A few months later I wanted something with more power so they talked me.into an unvented mech using stacked 18350s. I didn't know it explode if didn't observe proper battery safety. Anyhoo I sold that mod ages ago and avoid most b&ms and just ask my questions here if need be. Online is cheaper any how

All of the employees at my local B&M are cool as a polar bear's toenails. They are willing and able to help anyone from a completely new vaper to someone rocking multiple mech mods. They are the best group of people I have the privilege of calling friends. Must be the particular shop(s) you went in. Every B&M around here is full of people wanting to help others quit smoking and they are not concerned with how cool your setup is or how much you do or don't know.

I think its like anything else. You have good and bad. I went into a shop looking for a bridgeless 306 and the guy looked at me like I was speaking gibberish. It was the owner of the shop, but their so called "tech guy" had no clue what I wanted either. Needless to say that was the first and last time I went there. They seemed to do a fair amount of business. Go figure. Lucky for me there are other shops around that have knowledgable and helpful staff. It cost me more to shop at those places, but if I need it now I'll pay for that luxury. I don't think that it's too much to ask that a shop has staff who is well versed and helpful. Obviously we all have our own likes and shops will try to sell what they stock. I have had guys tell steer me towards something because it was a better product or would benefit me more rather then just sell me junk or the most expensive item in the shop. I appreciate that. I tend to do my homework before making a purchase so I can tell if someone is just trying to make a sale. That never goes over well with me and I won't do business with a place like that.

I was sitting in my local vape shop today waiting for some juice that I really like that I have only found there.
anyway I saw several people walk in, taste some juices, buy gear for 40 bucks that they could get for 15 online.
Saw these same people order juices known to crack plastic tanks.
I was able to pull a couple aside and tell them not to waste their coin on equipment that couldn't handle the juice. One actually confronted the counter help and told them that she would never come back because of them trying to sell clones as real products.
my first setup was one of these, battery is holding up but wished someone would have told me about plastic tanks and citrus juice. Just one thing you learn just a few hours too late.

I was in a B & M waiting to be helped, standing at the counter listening to this kid that was so desperate for a sale he was feeding some poor woman a load of crap about 18650's lasting a week or more in the Vamo she was thinking of getting her husband. I'm pretty sure that it was a 2000MaH battery, a no name one at that. I heard her tell him her husband vaped quite a bit more than she did and she was using a tank full ever 2 or so days. They had 4 egos and her husband was changing batteries more than her. He then told her that she would only need one that they charged in about 30 or 45 minutes. As I listened I decided against my purchase, I have a real problem when sales people either purposly or out of ignorance lie to a customer. As I stood there the sales kid looked my way and I waved my hand about a foot above my head back and forth. The lady did not see me. She decided to wait and let her husband come in with her and pick it out himself. She left this kid comes over to me and says "what the h&*% was that, you cost me a sale." I told him I didn't cost him a sale he did it all by himself, and that my hand motion was to tell him he was that full of crap. I thought he was going to tell me to leave, but instead he says so what do you want. nothing now I replied and left.
It's really sad that the shop owners don't at least educate and enforce some basic rules regarding lying to customers.

Most of the shops......well, actually 95% of them have been great.
There are two here on the N.E. side of Houston I like a lot.

Now, there is one that is more .......ed up than a football bat. Walk in an take a number.
"now serving # 65!"
Are you kidding me?!!?!?!?!
Never will I walk in that place again. If I wanted to take a number and be seated, I will go to the IRS

In the small town I live in we do not have a dedicated shop we have a counter in a tatoo/head/porn shop. Lets just said they were a tad blown away when my little old lady self walked in with a REO + RM2 rocking a 1.2 ohm coil. LOL It was quite satisfactory.

i hope you bought some porn and a .... just to further blow their minds

We had a new one open in a so called nutrition shop last year. Let's just say it's not relegated to the employees, the owner was a piece of work as well.

I asked about kanthal and he pulled out a wad of wire from below the counter. I asked him what resistance it was and he said I don't know.

He had pre-loaded clearomizers with juice to try, from pre-made liquids, fair enough. Sampled a few and decided on one, only to get home and it almost tased rancid.

go figure....

My local shop can't even sell what they have in store with a hint of knowledge, I've also heard them say a few gems like "well when the owner invented these...." (talking about mininova's and protanks). They had a monopoly in the area until recently but the new shops look to be even more fly-by-night operations pimping ego batts and dekang while the getting is good.

Is what it is.

I have to say I am blessed with great local B&Ms. The Vapor Shop in Newnan GA set me up with my first kit and juice. Vape Locker in Carrollton GA set me up with my first upgrade. ECF has helped me tremendously, I would be sitting in their shops for weeks at a time if they had to answer all the questions I have learned about here. But both shop owners and their staff are friendly, patient and care about their customers having a good vaping experience. I wish other B&Ms operated like this, don't they know customer service is what they are going to live or die on given all the online resources available at the click of a button??

The only local shop worth going to by me is called Fluid Vapor and their employees are great. If it's busy, they're kinda running around like crazy people but when it's quiet, they're great for conversation and tips. I've been to Beyond Vape in NYC and they were also very helpful but ridiculously overpriced. Maybe it's an Ohio thing. Might also be that I'm now 4 years deep on this whole e cig thing and I'm not asking the same questions they've probably heard over and over again.
