I see so many people on here saying things like:

"I quit for health and to save money but now I'm wasting more money on vape supplies"

I started to think about this, because now whenever I have extra cash I'm either spending it online or putting it away for Vape Bash...

But then I did some REAL thinking. I live in Chicago, I smoked a pack a day, if not more. In Chi, with taxes, Im lucky if I get a pack for under 11 dollars. (Before I started rolling, which didn't last long until I met vaping)

Thats 11 dollars a day right there. If I add all the days I've been vaping up, multiply that by 11, its a huge number, and way more than I've spent on vaping supplies. If I really wanted to I could grant myself 11 dollars a day to save for vape equipment and I'd have way more than I currently do in terms of vaping supplies. So most of this "extra cash" I find comes from me not buying analogs anyway.

I know some of you spent way less on cigs than I did, being in other areas, but I think it would be beneficial if you actually map out the amount you spent on analogs so you don't beat yourself up as much about buying that new battery or set of juices.

I spent $5 a day smoking. I put $5 a day up and don't buy anything until the pile is big enough. I am sure after a while some of that money will go towards other things besides vaping.

Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

That is what I'm thinking about doing, piling up the analog savings. in ten days I could buy an evic...

Being from the chicagoland area I feel your pain. I used to drive to Indiana to get my cigs before I quit. With all the stuff I have been buying lately I'm still way ahead in the game.

Yeah, I used to go back to the burbs and buy cartons. But then I'd end up smoking a carton in a week with it in my closet calling my name so I stopped after my second carton.

Sorry for the double post, how do I quote 2 people in one response?

I spent an average of 5 bucks a day on analogs, so I don't have to justify (in my mind), my purchases, yet, I'm cool with it. But I do have fears, however. I haven't been vaping long, 6 months give or take, and it's been a learning experience. I didn't start out with the better stuff, I started out with a trip to Walgreens, and I guess you can guess what I started out with.

I've wasted a lot of money on the way, and I am just now starting to get to the 'good stuff'. Problem is, as much as I like my eGo setup, I'm always wondering, "Will I like something even better?" An example: After I log off here for the night, I'm going to order myself an eGo Twist, something that I wasn't even interested in when I got my first eGo kit 4 weeks ago. But the more I read about the VV devices, the more fascinated I've become. My fear, specifically, is, will it end there? Will I become too obsessed with my new 'toys'? I already read up on anything and everything vape-related, and it's becoming an obsession.

Look the way I see it, youre replacing a bad habit with a hobby. Is vaping 100 percent healthy? No, but its not as nearly as bad a cigarettes, and smoking is supposed to be a hobby too if you really think about it, it just becomes an addiction. Vaping takes that and makes it a more real hobby with flavors and collecting and gadgets... In the end its an investment in your health, so even if you spend some more its worth it.

And the whole moving up thing, I'm going through that as well and as far as I can tell mostly everyone does. Yes, I started out at Walgreens getting Blu too. And yes, I'm getting a VV in the next week also. I think everyone goes through it. Watch this video:

It convinced me I wasn't just going through one of my hyper obsession phases.

The best savings is on your health.

Period. Well put. As long as you dont lose your house over provari's and custom painted tanks, I think vapers should keep this in mind while spending money.

Not trying to justify blowing money, but you get my point. I'd rather be buying cool mods and tastey juices than smokes, even if that intrudes into my instrument money or something. Because its helping my health.

I really like the idea of putting away the cash I would have used on analogs for my vape budget. Its cash I won't have had if I hadn't started vaping anyways. Besides i didn't start vaping to save cash. I didn't want to hear my hubby's complaining about my stinky sticks AND I honestly hated smoking. I didn't enjoy it. Vaping, I enjoy. Plus the hubby LIKES the smell and that I dont taste like an ashtray anymore. Instead I taste like candy. Grin. His happiness is worth every penny.
Happy Vaping

Thanks! At least my mind is at ease now, knowing it's not just me.

With my current simple ego setup and the 1 disposable and 1 808 cig-a-like I bought before the ego (still use the 808 and refill the cartos when I'm driving around), my focus is on getting to parity before I do any upgrading at all. I didn't smoke, but dipped, but my number 1 goal is getting off lippers, and 1a is driving the price down. I love gadgets of all types, so will get to the super-duper-uber-almost-hipster stuff, but I'm going to get in the black first (which should be pretty soon) and then I'm going to move on. I enjoy vaping on the ego right now, so might as well build that war-chest, learn a little bit and get what I want, then start building the war chest again.

That's exactly how I do it! I have the cheaper budget of $6/day to work with, but that's $180 a month that I've trained myself over the last decade to budget out.

The secret, peoples, is not a secret: DIY liquid. By far the most expensive part of the habit is the juice. DIY liquid can easily be around ten times cheaper than pre-made liquid.

Look at it this way: I've been vaping only three months or so and DIYing about half of that time. In those first 90 days I used cig-a-likes, stretched every carto as long as possible, and bought pre-made juice. In the second 90 days I bought three eGos, an MVP, and tanks up the wazoo... but I used DIY liquid.

The last 90 days were cheaper than the first. I know it's been said countless times here, but DIY is the way to affording toys.

I still turn my back at DIY juice but I know the day will come. I havent been at this long enough yet

My experience with the 510-T has been very good so far, the atomizers from joye are holding up well. I did have trouble at first because I bought a knock off to joye and it broke within the first week, I returned it, got a refund and bought a real joye 510-T. Ever since then I've had no problems. I bought two extra tank atomizers which cost 20$, and e-liquid lasts me for weeks, so I think I will be saving alot of money. My brand was Pall Mall smokes, here they are around 3-4 dollars a pack. Which is 30$ a week, and 90-100$ a month. Right now I have 4 atomizers and one could end up lasting a whole month, and a 60ml bottle of liquid is 30$. So at the end of the day, I'll be spending maybe 50$ or so a month. And saving roughly 40-50$ or more, which is a great thing. The start up costs of getting into vaping may seem abit steep to some, but it will end up saving you alot of money rather then smoking, plus you'll feel much better.
