I don't know how I've resisted buying more stuff. Maybe it's because I've gone overboard with other things recently. I will need some more clearo coils before long and 5 Ego batteries may not last a whole year. Just a week ago I made my first DIY juice but I had already found low-priced juice that I like from Mt Baker Vapors.

If I saw a neighbor using RBAs on mods I'm pretty sure I'd feel the need to keep up, but as it is I'm the only person I ever see vaping. 2 of the 5 Ego batteries are 1300mah Spinners that aren't here yet, and it's possible they could cause me to abandon fixed voltage. Basically, though, I'm just so happy with the experience so far that I'm not spending a lot of time or money trying to figure out how to make it better.

Jazon, that is an amazing collection. I don't know whether I'm more amazed by the amount of stuff or the fact that it's so organized.

I wish I could say the same thing :( When I first started vaping one of my reasons was "Hey, I'll save a ton of money, it's way cheaper than smoking!" That went out the window quickly, I have spent so much money on new toy I don't even want to think of it. But I am having the most fun I have had in years with a hobby that is not only fulfilling, but healthy. Plus the community is like no other I have ever come across, it truly is like a second family.

I've only been analog-free for 28 days. Still, without spending any more than I'd have spent on analogs for my former 2.5 packs per day habit, I've got enough supplies to last me for at least one more year and probably more like two more years.

Lol I was just at Lowes yesterday (bought a bench grinder Shop PORTER-CABLE 8-in Variable Speed Bench Grinder with Light at Lowes.com, BTW this works wonderfully. I wanted to buff my GGTS's to a mirror shine being they were pretty dull, spent last night using this and wow, they are like mirrors now, great investment, plus it was fun to use, I actually felt handy) and I came across this same item you have. I picked it up and wanted to buy it (I currently have drawers from Target that hold everything I have, but anything new I can buy just to buy when it comes to vaping is tempting ;), but then did the responsible thing and put it back. Now I want it even more lol.

I'm at the 1st month of vaping here. Ordinarily I'm about a carton a week smoker = about $200/mo for analogs.

Halo kit -55
Halo sampler kit -25
ego ultra kit -65
halo carts/juice-33
mt baker vapor order -42

So currently I'm over my analog mark, but not by much. I should have enough juice to last for a few months, however. And I'm going to resist buying any new toys for a while until I learn how to RBA and DIY my own juices. So if I don't buy any more analogs, I'll not be breaking even on month 1, but I should be saving going forward as long as I don't go TOO nuts.

I put all my expenses in a spreadsheet, and watch as my "break even date" gets further and further away.

;)

I started doing that but the stuff I bought that falls into the "Fail!" category depresses me and I stopped. At least my "Wins" are beginning to outnumber my "fails". Learning curve, I suppose.

On a more positive note, since I've found GrimmGreen on on Youtube and then this forum, the "fails" have dropped dramatically.

I've saved a ton more money than what my signature says. I feel I'm way ahead of the game. But I'm not a hobbyist, I wait to order
liquids when I need them, not because I want more. I am sitting on the same 2 Vivi Novas and Stardusts I've had for 5 months. I have changed out my heads because I don't know how to change the wicks on them, and don't know that I'm interested in doing it anyway. I have my batteries and I don't go buying the latest/greatest. I'm happy. That's why I'm saving. But it's ok, either way. If you want it to be a hobby, go for it. But if you want to save money vs. smoking analogs, you can do that to. ;)

a was doing pretty much the same thing for my first year of vaping then started to want better equipment but back then most devices were junk and didnt last long or work good, but here lately with all that is going on with the FDA its probably not the best idea to not have some surplus in case we have a few dry months from whatever they end up deciding next month,i think best case we will have a few months where we cant get juice while its being regulated and taxed, worst case they outright ban it, but i dont think that will be likely, its more likely they will just be trying to find a way to make money for themselves from it.but ether way you might want to get yourself a few months worth of juice to hold you over in the likely event that something should happen to the supply after there decision.

I've spent two and a half years buying almost whatever I wanted in the vaping world :) Its been fun and I don't regret a single purchase. I didn't start vaping to spend less then what I was spending on smoking although I did wish to stop the escalating cost and not be spending more. If I'd continued to smoke this entire time all I'd have to show for it would be a HUGE pile of butts :grr: but instead I have a huge stash of vaping supplies that will last me years. :)

Changes are coming soon in my life that meant I need to find ways to cut expenses. Vaping is an easy place for me to drastically cut down my spending. :) Going forward I'll only be purchasing "needs" of which I'll have very few but will at some point need some new lion batteries or need to restock some flavorings or Pg or Vg. or some wicking materials for my RA's but none of those things will be needed anytime in the near future and none of them will cost a fortune. I'm sure that once in a while I'll still splurge and buy something just for fun but that won't be happening very often anymore. :)

I really have to work on my cost savings analysis. I live in Missouri and we have the lowest analog prices in the country(according to the news). So I am not saving as much as some. However even with the money that I have spent looking over at my DIY cabinet and the supplies that I have in stock. I would say that I am waaaaaaaay ahead. I probably have enough juice for the two of us to smoke for a year plus right now. Two cartons a week or so(wife and myself) 30 or so a carton === $3120.00 for a year of analogs. So, I am way ahead I just don't have the exact amount.

I do believe you're right about analog prices in MO, Dragons. I'm originally from the KC area and used to go to Riverside for smokes every week. On my trips back to KC I'd stop in Boonville and grab a carton or two of my actual [former] brand, which are about $15/carton more here in Terre Haute.

Unrelated: I think MO has the lowest gas prices, too, at least in the Midwest. Gotta love MO.

I was paying $55.00 for GPCs (in Missouri) before I switched to vaping.
GPC? That means generic, right?

I didn't start vaping to save money, and having just ordered another $150 of new equipment, I've joined the club that's spent as much on vaping as would have been spent on smoking. However, I am still set for a good year into the future even without the new equipment, which is 2X Vision 1300mah Spinners, plus a Vamo with batteries, charger and clearos. With smoking I'd have accumulated 1500 butts in the trash.

My cartons of Newport 100s were costing me $51 each here in NC, so at 2.5 packs per day I was spending nearly $400 per month on smoking. I'm curious to know if MO prices are less than NC prices for cigarettes. Not for any purchasing purposes, just curiosity.
