If you want to see vape stores, make it easier to start a business! I know of 3 that sprang up in the last 2 months within 15 miles of me, in a mostly rural county of 300k people. That's in addition to the original local vapor shop expanding twice.

Starting a business in this part of Texas costs you all of $7 for a DBA and $10 for a city license.

REALLY? 300K is rural for a county? WOW! My county is 65000. We have a tobacco shop that sells a lot of Vape stuff. They knew to tap into that market since they are one of the only tobacco shops. :)

There are 5 shops within 10 miles of me, two are owned by the same person, and both are wonderful. There's another less than a mile form my house, but I refuse to go there due to off-brand products sold at name-brand prices, cheap e-liquid mixed in a back room somewhere, and shady salespeople who are less than helpful. The other one is quite a drive, almost 9 miles one-way, and is pretty much the same experience as listed above, except their juice tastes even worse. There's also a new one that just opened up a week ago, I have yet to stop in but I hear it's more aimed towards mods and stuff, rather than newbies, although I hear they sell starter kits as well.

I had plans to start a vape shop, until I looked into the startup costs, the owner of my favorite local shop admitted to me that he had almost $100K into starting up his business, although he is now making money almost faster than he can count it. Must be nice, huh? Lol. Vape shops are a booming industry, and there's money to be made, so long as your market isn't flooded with competition.

I also buy most of my juice online, but when I get that kick for a new flavor, I'll splurge and spend the $12.99 for a 30ml of something, just until my next order shows up in my mailbox.

Gotta ask. I've been to Vegas 4 times and absolutely love the place. But ( in your opinion ) as a resident, does all the flash get old?[/QUOTE/]

Heh... Well, not for me. Then again, I have only been here since November. The Strip/Fremont Street, locals pretty much go there if they work there or have visitors from out of town (sometimes I drive a bus on the Strip, which is... often odd). I was raised in Northern Nevada around gambling, so it has no real appeal for me.
LOTS of good restaurants, though-get away from the touristy areas, and they are often very reasonable.
This place is so very different from the last two places I was in for the past 17 years-Moab and Bullfrog, Utah.

/sorry for the threadjack, people.

I know of three, but I usually go to Smoke Revolt in Oregon, sometimes the one in Maumee. I only know of one tobacco store, and that's in BG. Used to be one of those on every corner, but they all dried up. Sign of the times, I guess! I don't think SR has a huge line of hardware, but the folks are always polite, helpful, and knowledgeable, so whatever they can sell yo, they can tell you how to use it right.

I live in Washington, DC and there don't seem to be any vape stores anywhere nearby. Tobacco stores usually have a couple kinds, but the bulk seem to be disposables, Blu and whatever random company they happen to have a deal with. Maybe the uncertainty of legal status is keeping people from opening more? Apparently there's one opening up in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of DC, but for a city this big to have none and only one on the way seems surprising. Curious to see how common vape stores are in different places. I'd love to be able to go into a store, look at the different models, ask questions, etc. All online is not the ideal for a newb, though thanks to the forum here I've found lots of good info.

I hear Ya DCer. I'm from Southern Maryland myself and would be willing to drive into DC for a Vape Shop visit, but there really are none. Heard of a couple in Baltimore, but I guess for now I'll keep ordering from online.

I think my cousin goes to Revolt I was going to ask her about it. How are the prices? The tobacco shop I go to in Fremont it's 8.99 for 15ml...the brand I like anyways. Their other brands seem really cheap and crummy. Probably what most people would find at gas stations. And they have no complex flavors which is a bummer. They have suggestions on mixing different kinds though.

I finally got to DC Vape Joint in Adams Morgan. It's a small place, nice folks, with about 30 flavors (their own line) and a handful of devices (all compatible--I think maybe Ego type?). I got the Tobacco flavor (nice dry, clean tobacco taste, not too pipelike) and Black Cherry (nicely flavored, not over the top sweet). Definitely worth a visit if you're in DC-- they let you try all the flavors, which is great, but not a "superstore" if you're looking for lots of variety.

There's a vap shop 50 miles from me...too far for my liking. The local tobacco shops carry a few Chinese made e-juices, which is nothing I'm interested in.

I'm purchase from a friend in Ohio, who doesn't charge me much, nor am I charged for shipping. She mixes each batch as I need it, so it's so fresh that I have to let it sit for a week or so before vaping with it...all with USA made liquids. I'd rather go through that hassle than to vape something of questionable content. Also...friendship has it's privileges.

Since writing the above response, I've located a couple shops in my area. They always seem to have what I need, when I need it, but pricing is high on hardware. The juices are priced well, but I can usually get the batteries and other supplies for at least 25% less online. I will always support my local businesses, because I like capitalism and seeing small businesses thrive...but there are somethings that I can't seem to justify paying more for.

Just yesterday I went to a store called Vapist in downtown Valdosta. It was great. The staff was very knowledable and I stood an talking with the owner for about thirty minutes. They even have a membership and if you join you get 10% off everything and acess to the back of the store which has a drill press and other things for the more advanced users. They also make custom juices in shop and let you customise exactly how you want it. Itwas nice when I walked in and someone knew exactly what mod I was holding. I have been to two other vape shops here and they both sucked. :D
