You have to move a lot of air through the tfv8 to help cool the coil & vapor. (DTL)

That exactly that..

Simply ignore anything else that was said...

When it comes to high watts it's all about the airflow, the harder/faster you haul the cooler the coils will be...

If your lungs can't handle it get coil heads for lower wattages.

Thanks everyone.
I guess I just thought I was doing something wrong at a high wattage. I mean my lungs can handle it, but it's so hot it burns my lips at 110 watts, and the coil says best at 120, I figured it was me, lol. Seems to me the best vape is at around 80.
I just got back into vaping, I'll be playing around with different coils to see what I like.

I've been following this thread and was reading the comments over the last day or so and I just realized...you said it's burning your lips. The vapor shouldn't touch your lips being the drip tip is completely in your mouth with your lips around the outside of the drip tip.

Are you putting the top of the drip tip on the outside of your lips or is the drip tip in your mouth with your lips being around the outside of the tip?

Well, it could be burning the inside of his lips, or so much vape is being expelled by the coils, he's getting a faceful... I always put my lips around my drip tip, LOL, thought I was doing it "wrong" actually, but then realized I was dragging similar to a cigarette.

I think the vape is just too hot and probably causing general discomfort, though it could be spitting? I guess?

Good point! I use the delrin tip that came with the TFV8 and even placing my lips against the top of the tank, it was still too hot. It even felt like I may have scorched the top of my throat a bit. IF op is experiencing anything close to what I have, it is something more then just having the wattage too high. I am going to take some time, trial and error, and see if "why" can be narrowed down.

Follow-up to my earlier post:

I tried the TFV8 again with the X4 coil and just OK at 80 watts, but really hot at 100 and up. I pulled the coil and took a close look under my magnifying glass. There appears to be some cotton blocking the bottom of the coil, not sure if that is normal or not. I didn't compare it to the new X4 I have because I chose to replace it with a T8 coil. While the X4 has 4 air flow holes at the base, the T8 is virtually wide open for what looks like far more air flow. Says it is "best" starting at 120 watts, but that is as high as I have gone so far. Hitting nice, slightly warm. Nothing remotely close to the heat I was getting from the X4 coil. So I am staying with the T8 coils and will keep my new X4 for use only in an emergency.

Before hitting "Post Reply", I cranked it up to 135 watts for a couple hits, then 140 for a few more. Vapable, but a bit warm for my liking. I'll let somebody else give it a go at the 180 top "best" level. Won't be any stealth vaping at 140! ;)

#CloudChaserProblems

Just kidding with you. I think you will be fine if you can get your airflow up.

No problem! I'm good with light hearted banter!

I don't consider myself a cloud chaser (just trying to help op since I had one "hotlips" experience), but I do enjoy changing up my vapes throughout the day just like changing up flavors multiple times a day. Don't want to get into a vaping rut! :tumble:

I am really digging this kit I got from Aspire for exactly that reason. It's fun to goof around with different stuff.

Not sure how many kits or combos you got, but keep this is mind......

The more rides at the fair, the more fun you will have! And they don't shut down the fair cause one ride broke down!

It's a thing that lets me swap between (my current favorite) MTL, an RTA, an RDTA, and a squonker. All on the same platform. I haven't tried the squonker yet because I don't have a squonk mod but I'm probably getting one sooner than later.
