Wrong colour, hex screws instead of magnets. !"£$ing %^&*"$s

DARKFiB3R,

What are you trying to show in this Photo? Are you saying it is a Red/Black box vs Black/White?

Also I don't know how upset you should be about no magnets. If it was what you wanted Ok but I have the magnetic door on my Black/White unit and it is not all that tight and shifts around a tiny bit. Nothing major but considering accessing the LiPo batteries is not something most people will do very often I would trade you in a heartbeat. ;)

I've seen photos of the batteries being directly soldered to the board without any connector. Wonder if the hex screws on each side is indicative of a direct connection? You keeping it after the long wait or sending it back?
Not sure yet, but I'm really not happy with the colour. Waiting to hear back from Geartwats.

Edit: I can at least confirm that the battery is not directly soldered to the board, and it does have the deans connector the correct way around.

No ribbon to help remove the battery, which seems like it would have been pretty difficult had I not taken both sides off, which made very easy.

For what it's worth, it arrived with the battery at around 50% charged according to the onboard screen.

Not sure how much I should mess with it at this point, in case these ...... try to pull a void warranty stunt on me.

Yeah, I was showing the colour (and that it had finally arrived)

I was less bothered about the magnets, but after waiting almost 2 months, I expect to receive exactly what I ordered.

Having now gone through the ordeal of trying to get the battery and cables back in, I can see now how having screws all round can be a benefit.

You have to put so much force on the cables, that they are bound to fail eventually.

If they had just carved out some extra space in the bottom for the connector to sit, then the problem would be solved.

Even though the red and black version has a better, more durable finish (anodized rather than painted), I still really wanted the black and whit one, I just like the look of it so much more.

If you were in the UK, I would seriously consider a trade, rather that waiting God knows how long for a replacement from China.

Well good luck dealing with them. I went ahead and opened a ticket for my battery and 510 coming off and been dealing with them off and on for a little over two weeks now. They just today asked me to send it back. "The supplier reply that there are some issue with the item.Could you please send the item back ?"
I'm like send me a replacement with a shipping label and I'll send it back when I receive a updated / fixed version. I don't see any reason I should be out the expense and inconvenience of shipping back to them for their errors. It usually takes a day or more for them to respond to tickets so don't get in a hurry.

It's been posted on their forum a week or so under another user post that had a similar problem to @1cas, they charged the device overnight and was dead the next time they went to use it. But as I've said before it doesn't seem those in the know have time to respond to the forum so there's never been a response. I'm using the VTbox200 so no special charge board with mine.
@Vlad1 - I have been lurking in the Evolv forum for a few weeks and signed up today. Account is pending approval.

I have not seen the thread you mentioned, but will keep looking. I am not sure how to check if the fuse is blown with the software (the fuse looks intact - green, with 4 white s-shapes). If the issue is with the board itself, or the way it handles charging, I hope that Evolv will somehow rectify it.

Looking to get a dna200 mod along with a yihi Xmas time and had narrowed my choice to the hcigar (brass 510 a complete no no) the hotcig dx200 but very little about that one around ànd this vapecige but after reading this whole thread looks like the hotcig is going to be my choice. I know hcigar are talking about newer versions having a ss 510 but doesn't seem to be happeñing quickly and looking through various forums the dna200 seems to be having quite a few issues sort of giving me déjà vu from previous evolv purchases. Am I missing anything on this mod that should keep it in contention ?.

Here's the thread I was referring. http://evolvapor.forumchitchat.com/post/board-fried-while-mod-was-connected-to-pc-overnight-7657877
But there are a number of similar stories throughout the forum. Posts are not always organized very well and sometimes Bugs are reported in General conversation etc...

This thread has quite a bit of talk on blow fuses:

Disregarding the electronics as they'll all perform essentially the same, about the only thing you could use for comparisons would be Battery capacity, Build quality, Ergonomics, Charge rate / time and if battery is easily changeable or not. The main draw for me on the VTBox200 was the price point ($120) and the stated Battery capacity (which it isn't 1800mah) but it get's me through the day without a problem so that's not a big deal for me. If I had to spend $200+ on it I would have passed entirely.

Thanks for the response I like to charge battery's independently so the hotcig appeals but got a few weeks till I order so will keep up with the various threads. Budget is limited ideally around the £130-140 area all in so puts me at the budget end and always have to accept a couple of things when your low budget.

My personal opinion is save up a little longer and get a vaporshark. I think it looks nicer, while battery might not be as big it should charge much faster and your more likely to get issues sorted with a USA company than China. I did have one of these on preorder and after following the thread in its entirety since the start it has been a hell of a journey and honestly I'd really rather not give vape cige a single penny of my money. Not only all the issues with build quality, people getting the wrong color, the delays, price fixing. There is too much .... to deal with. I waited one month for my preorder before I cancelled. Got my money back and by the time I got it back I had enough money for a shark. Preordered that, waited a bit and vaporshark said they had issues with there cases which would incur up to 3 weeks delay and it still arrived before the majority of people have received these. Anyway that arrived a few days ago and its great. Most of the guys here ordered around the same time as I did and are still waiting 7 weeks later for devices to arrive and even then some are broken, don't last 1 night or just wrong color. By the time your order arrives you would have enough for a higher quality device.

My Vapecige shipped before I received my Hotcig. Had it not I would have had GB send me another Hotcig as I really like it, almost bought another Hotcig from them this morning anyway but held back. Got too much stuff already.

Ahh just take them both wrap some duct tape around them and make yourself a HotCige 400.

I got mine in and have used it for a few days and I am quite happy with it. I don't need magnets as I am not going to be pulling the battery in and out anyway. Still nice to know I can replace the battery if I need to mind. The box is solid and I bought this to not care about it and I think it will hold up well!

One thing is for sure, there is no way I would be happy with any device with a smaller battery then what this has. This just makes it a day for me with normal vaping, I am assuming I would have to charge it if I am doing anything social where I would be vaping more.

Did you receive the color that you ordered?
