Be sure to upgrade the firmware as earlier firmware will let the battery drain way low and the new firmware fixes that(if you haven't already)
Thanks for the tip. That was the first thing I did after connecting to Escribe. Perhaps that's the problem with these mods getting to the consumers with dead batteries. Good idea for Evolv to send notice to the mod manufactures if their early firmware caused a drain. I think I'm lucky after the USB recovery it seems to be taking a good balanced charge almost 100% now. I've been able to upload some settings and vape on it a bit without any problems since the initial box opening. Other than the learning curve. Not the most intuitive if you don't know the button combinations to get to what you want to change.

As a safety precaution leave the lipo outside the mod and charge. If the lipo swells and becomes soft discard ASAP.

Took it out once when I first received it. Too tight to be taking in and out but it seems to have charged fine. Did change the mah to 1700 in Escribe as the charge current dropped off to almost nothing once it reached 98%, .02A if I recall correctly. Vaping on it now, wanted to get some Vape time on it but I'll look into the battery charge capability more later on.

Check if the lipo swells a bit. If it's hard then it's good to vape on.

I wish I had more experience with Lipo's but there's no obvious swelling to it. There is some softness on the end where the power output wires come out from the point where the slight kink was from when they installed it into the enclosure. At any rate I think I'll see about getting a replacement battery just in case since it arrived over discharged and kinked. The good news is it seems to be working as intended presently.

An update on my VTBox200. Topped off the battery this morning at about 08:00, been vaping mostly at about 25W, 550F, .27Ω Ti coil with 100w preheat since then and battery is at about 75% full. I've only went through about 4ml-5ml of juice which is pretty typical for me. I tried a dual coil .17Ω Ti but for some reason using the same settings above it caused the coils to overheat and chalk and gave me a terrible dry hit so I abandoned that for the time being. One thing I notice is that with my Preheat set to 100W it doesn't go that high on the display with my single coil Ti but with the Dual coil Ti it did so I don't understand why that's different and need to look into that more. I also did a little dripping at about 75w on a dual .3Ω Kanthal for a bit as well. Functionally I think it's working as intended. I still need to become more familiar with accessing different functions as I seem to forget which combination of buttons do what consistently and what's adjustable on the device and what isn't. Comparing to the SXmini M with the same atty and similar settings I'm getting very similar vaping experience. While it size is large it will definitely last me throughout the day plus some the way I vape. I did open a ticket with Gearbest in hopes of getting the battery replaced, attached a pic of the kink in the battery and a screen capture of the low voltage as displayed in Escribe when I received it so awaiting their reply.

Yep and if you or anyone would please give us noobs the step by step on getting started out of the box. Do you just download Escribe and plug it in and it recognized a firmware was available? Would love to know the basics to get it vaping. Some devices you unplug a battery to flash so a brief education would be nice.

Thanks for all the info.

According to FT it's 158 mm long, that ain't right. It's 72 mm (approx) It can be purchased on Ebay for pretty much the same price (USA) for the 40c and that's stated as being 1 mm shorter.

I did a quick write up yesterday. Hopefully I included enough to get started.

Thanks guys, I've looked around a little for batteries and Gearbest has responded (Communication issues) but not resolved anything yet with the battery so I'm hoping they'll just send one to me. Right now I'm happy with the $120 + $6.80 S&H price point on this device and to me I feel like I got a good deal. Some consider me cheap, tight etc.. but I say I'm frugal :) but to me this device should be in the $140-$150 price range max so if I have to buy a battery I won't feel like I got much of a deal.
