I'm not even sure if there is another mod. I think that "dna 200" box they keep showing might just be a pre-production unit or something.

It looks pretty identical from the front/screen panel, just with a different top panel.

Regardless, I'm confident that those of us who have ordered, or indeed who order in future, will receive a box that works like the one VapnFagan showed in the YouTube Croak posted the other day, and which appears to work fine. That's all that matters to me.

Besides, they're all dna 200s. It's not like a new box design could be earth shatteringly different. A key difference could be size, and this other unit looks a similar size. Or that it had Disruptor/HotCig-style replaceable batteries, which this other unit clearly doesn't have. So, even if there is a different unit, does it matter? It's just going to be a mild variation.

But I don't think there is anything different.

I do agree however that they're dumb for confusing everyone. I also didn't like the post I just saw on FB saying they don't support group buys and won't provide warranty support for them in future. Very poor principle.
Totally agree with everything you just said.

Is it possible for you to list us what are the settings that can only be changed through escribe?

I threw together a short write up of the minimum setup needed to get going.

DNA 200 Quick Start Guide -- get your DNA 200 mod up and running without 3 credit hours of eScribe lol | E-Cigarette Forum

Basically at a bare minimum, update the firmware, make sure the battery pack capacity is setup properly and create a profile for each wire type you use. Without a PC to do that you won't get the full benefit of the great vape the device provides.

Beyond that, almost everything configurable from its behavior to the screens to the buttons. Then beyond that the device monitor feature allows viewing real time data from the mod as a scrolling plot on screen. Can be very useful for a number of applications including tweaking a build to wring maximum performance from it, diagnosing battery and charging, etc., etc.

Right behind you...
Regarding the "v2" or whatever those early pics are showing, there might be a problem with the current design, actually. The Friday Morning could be putting some pressure on them to stop making a Mustang look-alike, for instance. Pure speculation on my part though.

And Shenzen mod makers, I have a suggestion for you. Run contests.

The rules? Have the public attempt to create an attractive company logo and/or device logos, the winner gets a free production unit. Cheap as chips way to harness the artistic and aesthetic talent of the world, because most of you fookers have none.

I just had this brain storm where I was going to cancel my Vapecige at GB and purchase one from FT instead but the code no longer works at FT.
Fasttech stopped the coupon and instead gives you 40-45$ credit for future buys from them but to be on the safe side you should ask them if the gift credit is still valid.

I'm just gonna post this here. So one of my subtank minis was jumping all over the place in terms of resistance. So this is my experiment. I took an old positive pin from an old occ head and soldered a length of 10 gauge solid copper wire (10-2 Romex )to the bottom, which will in turn thread through the bottom part of the tank making contact with the 510 on a mod. If this works, I will reuse this pin on new heads and will also do the same to the rba base, eliminating that tiny brass positive pin on the subtank. And to keep this post somewhat kosher, hopefully we see our VTbox200's ship tomorrow!

tomorrow is our day. (or disappointment) :)
Personally, I'm not getting overly excited about getting a shipping notification tomorrow. To me, the email they sent me, that I posted a page back, seemed to suggest that the manufacturer would ship the mods tomorrow, not necessarily FT.

Honestly the biggest mistake evolv did was not include titanium already installed on the chip. sure you can use escribe but you know from a sales point of view it's just silly. since technically the DNA 200 chip only supports nickel out of the box while there are others that support nickel and titanium out of the box.

Yeah this is beyond a joke now. Ridiculous.

At least my Hotcig is packaging.

I'm really tempted to simply cancel the Cigee so as not to give these clowns any money. Then maybe order a second HC. I don't know, it feels like I've waited so long it would be nice to actually get it, and have at least one 200 with a decent sized battery (assuming it's at least 1500). Then again, I'm loath to give them money at all.

If they had some HC's in a different color it would be a done deal.
Are you guys talking about the Hcigars? Because yeah, I would have probably ordered one by now if they didn't have those fugly lines going down the side of the mod. The red one would be very nice looking IMO without those stupid stripes/lines.
