I work in a manufacturing plant and we use silica there. Silica is very finely ground up sand and exposure to the lungs for long periods of time (like years) has the same effect as asbestos. Im not saying the wics can cause mesothelioma but for me I wouldnt risk it. Well, unless letting your family join a class action law suit after you die sounds like a good deal to you. Then do what ya want.
 
I believe it was a test I did, yes I'm sure it was, and a test involves taking things to extremes just to see what happens. Under extreme conditions the organic cotton wool caught fire and burned rapidly, and the silica did not catch fire and did not burn at all.

If I can get any of my batteries to burn as hot as a blow torch, I think I'd be setting some kind of world record! :D
