I have seen some of the members here post about encountering ear problems around the same time they started vaping. However, I thought it would be worth starting my own thread on this topic in an attempt to add to the information which is mounting on this topic.

I started vaping a while back, but it was as if I was possessed. I vaped all day long. I literally rarely put it down. It was a pretty strong nicotine content but also did indeed have propylene glycol. In any case, recently I started noticing ringing in my ears, popping and clicking and eustachian tube clogging.

To the best of my knowledge I never really had hearing problems before vaping. So, I would be curious to hear if there are a couple of people or many people who have experienced similar problems. If this is indeed the case that many people are encountering these issues from vaping, there ought to be some studies which would help explain why this is happening.

Hi Frederic

I also vape long and hard all day, since June of 2012. At almost 59, never had ringing in the ear until 2 months ago - only 1 ear and as I sit here it seems to have stopped  It never was constant, only 15 seconds out of every minute or so. First time I heard this mentioned related to vaping - loud noise, which is everywhere today, is the usual suspect - though anything is possible. In any case, I hope it goes away for you. Good luck

I've had mild tinnitus for many years, probably from exposure to loud music and noise at work.

Lately, I had a particularly extreme episode of tinnitus along with a blocked eustachian tube in my left ear. It may be related to a head cold that lingered for over a month. It could also be related to vaping.

I've been taking decongestant pills for the head cold and that seemed to help quite a bit. I think I'm over the head cold now. I haven't needed the decongestant pills for several days now.

Most times I don't notice mine, alltho it can be quite loud, until someone starts a thread on it. :) I vape fifty-fifty now, started with 70PG. I've two teens at home, poor health and much meds so I'm not expecting improvement and have plenty to distract me. No one has reported here with any significant development in improving this problem over many threads the last few years.

Generally speaking, a few years back I had an auditory testing for work. It came back with results showing I'm about half deaf. Considering I've grown up country boy, worked in, around heavy, light industry, listened to loud music it's easy enough to see.

That aside, have noted at least a sense of better hearing for myself since vaping. That isn't all glorified scientific or proofed out by anything. It's just me saying, "well, seems I can hear better", after vaping near two years.

Do I think I genuinely do hear better? No, not really. It's a nice hope but I figure the damage done is not revocable.

I hear popping in my jaws, round my ears. This comes when vaping a bit during the day. I put it off as sinuses clearing from the pg tackling microbes. Again though, I'm speculating. If it is of heavy concern a person may want to see a doctor or nurse practitioner.
