Soo... It was that time again, the ever dreaded PT test. This would be my first one since I picked up vaping, and the results are in, with a satisfactory 86.5% :w00t: Soo... Screw those that say vaping is worse for you, because I went from a 75.1%, barely passing to an 86.5% in 6 months.

Congratulations!!

What is this PT test and why do you have to take it?

I'm assuming Bilbo is Air Force since he's at Minot, so I'll go with the AF regs. All members have to take a Physical Training (PT) test consisting of a 1.5 mile run, crunches, push-ups, and an abdominal circumference measurement. Depending on the member's score, they're retested in 6 months or a year later.

I was smoking a pack a day for roughly 6 years. I know, I know....not that much compared to some here.....HOWEVER, compared to a NON-SMOKER, my health was slipping. The phelgm, the coughing, the asthma, the waking up in the middle of the night to have to cough up phelgm....and first thing in the morning.
Also, whenever the humidity was high, or it was real cold out, my asthma would kick in. I NEVER HAD ASTHMA before smoking. It got so bad that I got hooked up to one of those machines that you blow you into, and they measure this and that.....well I had to repeat the process about 30 times, because they couldn't believe how little I was blowing back in my 20s.

Anyway, in vaping only about 45 days so far straight, with no cigs.....I haven't had ANY asthma or phelgm past the 20ish day mark. Also, my energy levels have SKY ROCKETED. I've been working out again.

I will admit, I still get winded more than I should from should working out, but I have timed myself for comparison. It takes TWICE AS LONG for me to get winded doing the SAME ACTIVITIES/WORK OUTS as before. This is no joke....and I've repeated it MANY times to see if this is actually the case, and it is!

I look forward to gaining more and more of my health back, and I move further and further away from the date of my last cig.

1. Thank you for your service to our country.

2. I was a runner when I smoked but couldn't make it past about 5 miles. Last year I did two half-marathons, and improved my mile times by 90 seconds per mile.

3. I would like to encourage all vapers to set fitness goals. It's really a lifestyle change you can make for yourself in small increments. Vaping is of couse a great first step, but dont be afraid to take 2nd, 3rd and 4th steps.

My brother is a dentist for the Air Force.. He is very proud of me..

Now I have to get in shape to chase him on his 1.5 mile run

Congrats again, Bilbo.. Keep up the good work!

Much easier than you would think.

Check out the 'couch to 10k' workout online. It is what I used before shipping off 3 years ago.
